295 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 23, 1984 <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION TO ;CLOSE <br />ALLEYS FOR ANNUAL PICNIC - JULY 28, 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />the William Penn Association to close the alleys surrounding <br />the William Penn Club on Saturday, July 28, 1984 commencing <br />at 12:00 noon for the annual picnic, said request submitted <br />to the Board on July 11, 1984, and recommends approval subject <br />to the alleys being used as spectator areas with no permanent <br />booths being set in place thus allowing the alleys to be used <br />for emergency purposes should the need arise.. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the above recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE THE 2300 & 2400 BLOCK OF UNION <br />AVENUE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY AUGUST'19, 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request to <br />close the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Union Avenue for a neighborhood <br />block party submitted to the Board on July 16, 1984, and recom- <br />mends approval subject to the maintenance of a ten (10) foot <br />clear and unobstructed lane -for emergency purposes. It was <br />noted that the Petitioner will be responsible for the setting <br />in place and removal of the barricades, said barricades to be <br />delivered by the Bureau of Traffic.and Lighting. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - KENSINGTON FARMS EAST, SECTION 3. PART 5 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented to the Board at this <br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Title Sheet was <br />approved and signed. <br />APPROVE SIDE14ALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following Sidewalk Sale Permit <br />application has been received: <br />NAME OF BUSINESS: Erica's <br />LOCATION: 1602 Mishawaka Avenue <br />BY: Richard R. Broecker <br />DATES: August 3 & 4, 1984 <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Needlework Supplies <br />It was noted that a $1,000,000.00 Certificate of Insurance naming <br />the City of South Bend as an additional insured for this event <br />was attached to the application. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above applica- <br />tion was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office <br />for issuance. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following five (5) handicapped parking permit applica- <br />tions were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office <br />for issuance of permits: <br />Betty S.
