0 04 ITS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 16.` 1'984 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY IN THE .1000 <br />BLOCK OF WEST OAK STREET (AUGUST 4, 1984) <br />Mr.-Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Captain Edward Friend, <br />Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the request <br />to conduct a block party in the 1000 block of West Oak Street <br />submitted to the Board on July 9, 1984, and recommend approval <br />subject to the maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and un- <br />obstructed lane for emergency purposes. It was noted that the <br />Petitioner will be responsible for the closing and opening of <br />the streets and alleys with barricades to be provided by the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MARA14ATRA TEMPLE TO <br />CONDUCT WALK-A-THON - JULY 21, 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski.advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Captain Edward Friend, <br />Police Department Traffic Division, have reviewed the request <br />of the Maranatha Temple to conduct a Walk-a-Thon submitted to <br />the Board on July 9, 1984 and recommend approval subject to the <br />walkers obeying all traffic and pedestrian laws and walkers <br />crossing North Michigan Street at North Shore and not at <br />Riverside as originally requested. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recom- <br />mendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. 14ARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH <br />TO CLOSE PORTION OF ASSUMPTION DRIVE FOR ANNUAL <br />PARISH FESTIVAL - AUGUST 12, 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Captain Edward Friend, <br />Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the request <br />of St. Mary of Assumption Church to close a portion of <br />Assumption Drive for the annual parish festival, said request <br />submitted to the Board on July 9, 1984, and recommend approval <br />subject to the maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and un- <br />obstructed lane for emergency purposes. It was noted that <br />the Petitioner will be responsible for the closing and opening <br />of the street and alleys with barricades to be provided by the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recom- <br />mendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF KIWANIS CLUB TO CONDUCT ANNUAL <br />INTERSECTION NEWSPAPER SALE - SEPTEMBER 15. 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Captain Edward Friend <br />Police Department Traffic Division, have reviewed the request <br />of the Kiwanis Club of South Bend to conduct their annual <br />intersection newspaper sale submitted to the Board on June 4, <br />1984.
