276 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 9, 1984 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />CAMDEN/HOWARD & NILES PAVEMENT PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, P.E., Manager, <br />Bureau of Design and Administration, requested that the Board <br />advertise for the receipt of sealed bids for the Camden/Howard <br />& Niles Pavement Project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />DE-ICING MATERIALS (STREET DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of sealed bids for de-icing materials for the Street <br />Department. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY ON EAST WASHINGTON <br />STREET (JULY 25. 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Elmer A. Rich, 1305 East Washington <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that East Washington <br />Street between Sunnyside and Jacob Street be closed for a neighbor- <br />hood block party on Wednesday, July 25, 1984, with a rain date of <br />Thursday, July 26, 1984, from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review <br />and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY IN THE 1000 BLOCK. <br />OF WEST OAK STREET - (AUGUST 4, 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Linda Johnson, 1015 West Oak Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 1000 block of West Oak <br />Street, between Sherman and Allen be closed for a neighborhood <br />block party to be held on August 4, 1984 from 8:00 a.m, until <br />8:00 p.m. with a rain date of August 5, 1984. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - KENSINGTON FARMS EAST <br />(SECTION 3, PARTS 3 & 4) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred <br />to project was being presented at this time for execution. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />REQUEST OF ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH TO CLOSE PORTION <br />OF ASSUMPTION DRIVE - (AUGUST 12, 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Rev. F. Thomas Lallak, Pastor, St. Mary <br />of the Assumption Church, 3402 South Locust Road, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to close a portion of Assumption <br />Drive on Saturday, August 12, 1984, from 12:00 noon until <br />10:00 p.m. for the Annual Parish Festival. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr, Hill and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF MARANATHA TEMPLE TO CONDUCT WALK-A-THON <br />(JULY 21, 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Barbara Bunton, Singles Director, <br />Maranatha Temple, 760 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />indicated that the congregation of the Temple is requesting per- <br />mission to conduct a Walk -A -Thou in downtown South Bend on Saturday, <br />
