<br />REQUEST OF METAL RESOURCES CORPORATION TO INSTALL
<br />TWO (2) MOBILE TRAILER UNITS REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Daniel M. Rifkin, President, Metal
<br />Resources Corporation, P.O. Box 2856, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />indicated that Metal Resources Corporation would like to apply
<br />for a permit to install two (2) mobile trailer units at their
<br />new Prairie Avenue facility. These two (2) units will serve
<br />as an interim production office and locker room facilities
<br />during the construction period for this facility. An estimate
<br />for the time period that these temporary.units are to be
<br />utilized is approximately 18-24 months. It was noted that
<br />attached to the request was a site plan showing the location of
<br />the trailers. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was referred to the
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Building Department for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 423
<br />SOUTH HARRIS STREET REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Elberto Garcia, 425 South Harris
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that he was interested
<br />in buying the City -owned property at 423 South Harris Street
<br />to extend his property for a larger backyard. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the
<br />above request was referred to the necessary City Departments
<br />and Bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City
<br />retain the lot for any reason.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT
<br />1811 FLORENCE AVENUE REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David L. Sypniewski, 1801 Florence
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that as the owner of
<br />property adjacent to 1811 Florence Avenue, he is concerned
<br />about the condition of the property and would like to purchase
<br />said property. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the
<br />necessary City departments and bureaus for a determination as
<br />to whether or not the City retain the lot for any reason.
<br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND SHRINE CLUB, INC. TO BARRICADE
<br />SIDEWALKS AT 126 WEST MARION STREET FOR ANNUAL
<br />CORN ROAST (AUGUST 15, 1984) REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David B. Wiseman, 322 West Washington
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that the South Bend Shrine
<br />Club, Inc. will hold its annual corn roast on Saturday, August 11,
<br />1984 between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and is requesting that the
<br />City provide barricades for the sidewalks on the north and west
<br />side of its building at 126 West Marion Street during this event.
<br />It was noted that the South Bend Shrine Club, Inc. has on file
<br />with the Board of Public Works a Certificate of Insurance in the
<br />amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City as an additional insured
<br />during this event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred
<br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department
<br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF DORA LOTTIE TO CONDUCT
<br />STREET SERVICES (JULY 2-9, 1984)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Dora Lottie, 2024 Pershing Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct street
<br />services on the corners of Walnut and Washington Streets during
<br />the first week of July for one week from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m.
<br />As this is an annual request with no complaints having been
<br />received in the past, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was
<br />approved.
