REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 2, 1984 <br />AWARD BIDS - ST. JOSEPH STATION - BID PACKET #1 (STRUCTURAL <br />SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT OVER BASEMENT) AND BID PACKET #2 <br />(SIDEWALK ON GRADE REPLACEMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, <br />Department of Public Works, advised that the bids received on <br />June 11, 1984 for the above referred to project have been <br />reviewed and it is his recommendation that the awards for Bid <br />Packet #1 in the amount of $29,700.00 and Bid Packet #2 in <br />the amount of $9,900.00 be made to Casteel Construction Corpora- <br />tion, 23086 West Ireland Road, P.O. Box 628, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the bids <br />awarded. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWYCKENHAM <br />DRIVE, ANGELA BOULEVARD PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau <br />of Public Construction, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT AND ADDENDUM <br />The following Community Development Contract and Addendum were <br />presented to the Board for approval: <br />NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES OF SOUTH BEND, INC. <br />NHS RENTAL REHAB PROJECT <br />The targeted goal for NHS is to assist in one <br />loan project to rehabilitate a multi -family <br />housing facility within the City of South Bend <br />downtown area. <br />NHS may expend monies for activities under this <br />contract in an amount not to exceed $110,000.00 <br />ADDENDUM II <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY <br />Addendum II indicates that the Timetable should be <br />revised in the following manner: <br />Costs may be incurred when the agency is notified <br />to proceed by the Division of Community Development. <br />The activity shall commence on April 1, 1983 and <br />shall continue to and include December 31, 1984. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above Contract and Addendum were approved and executed. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE DEDICATION OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY (EAST <br />ONE-HALF OF IVY ROAD BETWEEN SOUTH BEND AVENUE AND ANGELA) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board has received from Joseph <br />A. Catanzarite, Phyllis Catanzarite and Patrick J. Oliva, <br />owners of real estate within the City of South Bend a Dedica- <br />tion of Public Right -of -Way which grants, dedicates and conveys <br />to the City a parcel of land located between State Road 23 and <br />Edison Road in the Northeast Quarter of Section 6, Township 37 <br />North, Range 3 East, commonly known as the East one-half of <br />Ivy Road and more particularly described in the legal description <br />contained in the Dedication of Public Right -of -Way document, <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above Dedication was accepted and approved. <br />1 <br />
