REGULAR MEETING JULY 2, 1984 AWARD BIDS - ST. JOSEPH STATION - BID PACKET #1 (STRUCTURAL SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT OVER BASEMENT) AND BID PACKET #2 (SIDEWALK ON GRADE REPLACEMENT) In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Department of Public Works, advised that the bids received on June 11, 1984 for the above referred to project have been reviewed and it is his recommendation that the awards for Bid Packet #1 in the amount of $29,700.00 and Bid Packet #2 in the amount of $9,900.00 be made to Casteel Construction Corpora- tion, 23086 West Ireland Road, P.O. Box 628, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the bids awarded. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWYCKENHAM DRIVE, ANGELA BOULEVARD PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT AND ADDENDUM The following Community Development Contract and Addendum were presented to the Board for approval: NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES OF SOUTH BEND, INC. NHS RENTAL REHAB PROJECT The targeted goal for NHS is to assist in one loan project to rehabilitate a multi -family housing facility within the City of South Bend downtown area. NHS may expend monies for activities under this contract in an amount not to exceed $110,000.00 ADDENDUM II DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY Addendum II indicates that the Timetable should be revised in the following manner: Costs may be incurred when the agency is notified to proceed by the Division of Community Development. The activity shall commence on April 1, 1983 and shall continue to and include December 31, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Contract and Addendum were approved and executed. ACCEPT AND APPROVE DEDICATION OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY (EAST ONE-HALF OF IVY ROAD BETWEEN SOUTH BEND AVENUE AND ANGELA) Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board has received from Joseph A. Catanzarite, Phyllis Catanzarite and Patrick J. Oliva, owners of real estate within the City of South Bend a Dedica- tion of Public Right -of -Way which grants, dedicates and conveys to the City a parcel of land located between State Road 23 and Edison Road in the Northeast Quarter of Section 6, Township 37 North, Range 3 East, commonly known as the East one-half of Ivy Road and more particularly described in the legal description contained in the Dedication of Public Right -of -Way document, Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above Dedication was accepted and approved. 1
