255 REGULAR MEETING JULY 2. '1984 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:31 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 1984, by President E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer, AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by. Mr. Leszczynski, seconded.by Mr. Hill and carried, a request to conduct a block party on July 4, 1984 was added to the agenda. .PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. Leszczynski advised that on July 9, 1984, the Board of Public Works will conduct a public hearing regarding the request of Heritage Cablevision to increase established maximum rates. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the minutes of the June 22, 1984 Special Meeting of the Board, June 25, 1984.regular meeting of the Board and June 25, 1984 reconvened meeting of the regular meeting of the Board were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - ETHANOL PLANT CONCRETE SIDEWALK FOR THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING PROJECT This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. Bid was signed by Robert L. P.O. Box 1775 McCormick, Superintendent, South Bend, Indiana 46634 Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $59,796.56 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bid was referred to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. AWARD BID - ONE (1) SMALL GRADER AND ONE (1) BACKHOE LOADER In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of Transportation, indicated that he has reviewed the bids received on June 25, 1984 for the above referred to equipment and recommends the following awards be made: One (1) Model 680H Case Loader/Backhoe to MCB-Contractors Equipment Company, Inc., 1521 West Jefferson Street, Plymouth, Indiana in the amount of $37,133.00, including trades. One (1) Model AB6905 Athey Blade to Reid - Holcomb Company, Inc., 333 West Coliseum Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana in the amount of $24,470.00, including trades. Mr. Watt advised that these bids are lowest and best meeting specifications. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the bids awarded.
