262 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 25, 1984 <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin B. Humphrey, Engineering Department,. recommended <br />that the Contractor's Bond for Klose Brothers, Inca be <br />approved effective June 25, 1984. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />Contractor's Bond was approved, <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />Two (2) reports from the Department of Code Enforcement <br />indicating a total of three -hundred sixty-four (364) properties <br />cleaned from June 11, 1984 to June 22, 1984 were submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the above reports were filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 11934 <br />through Claim Docket No. 12364 and recommended approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the claims were approved and the report filed. <br />UPDATE ON PURCHASE OF TORRINGTON BUILDING AND RELATED MATTERS <br />Mr. Hill stated that the special Board of Public Works meeting <br />convened and recessed on Friday, June 22, 1984 was cancelled <br />because details on the purchase of the Torrington building <br />and related matters were still being negotiated. At this time, <br />the necessary documents are not ready for action by the Board <br />and it is anticipated that action will not be taken by the <br />Board until later in the week of June 25th. <br />REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORT ON A PETITION TO CHANGE MICHIGAN, <br />MAIN, LAFAYETTE, WASHINGTON, WAYNE, JEFFERSON AND ST. JOSEPH <br />STREETS TO TWO-WAY STREETS - MR. RALPH JOHNSON <br />Mr. Ralph Johnson, 734 North Cushing Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />addressed the Board and asked for a status report on the above <br />referred to Petition which he submitted to the Board on <br />November 28, 1983 and again on January 9, 1984. Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting is reviewing <br />and studying the request and as soon as that review is completed, <br />a response to Mr. Johnson's request will be submitted to the <br />Board. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:53 a.m. <br />J n E.
