261 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 25, 1984 <br />FILING OF DETAILS CONCERNING ETHNIC FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board the following final details concerning <br />Ethnic Festival activities: <br />1. The Ethnic Festival Parade - The Ethnic Festival <br />parade marshalling area shall consist of Lafayette <br />Street from Sample to Western; Williams Street from <br />South to Western; South Street from Taylor to Main; <br />Monroe Street from Williams to Main. All of the <br />above streets will be closed to normal thru traffic <br />during the parade marshalling. Marshalling will <br />start at approximately 7:00 a.m. with the parade <br />moving out at 9:45 a.m. <br />The parade route shall be Lafayette Street from <br />Western Avenue to Colfax, west on Colfax to <br />Williams, south on Williams to Wayne Street. <br />The above streets will be closed to normal thru <br />traffic during the parade, estimated from 9:45 <br />until 12:00 noon. <br />The area in front of the County -City Building <br />will be reserved for reviewing stand, performing <br />arts and television coverage. A temporary bill- <br />board advertising the festival will be placed <br />on the southwest corner on Jefferson at Lafayette. <br />2. The following streets will be closed to public <br />use during the Ethnic Festival: <br />Washington Street between Service Ct. #5 and <br />Rasmussen Ct., Jefferson Blvd. between Service <br />Ct. #5 and Rasmussen Ct., (both Service Ct. #5 <br />and Rasmussen's Ct. will be open to traffic), <br />100 S. Michigan, 100 N. Michigan (access will <br />remain open to the Marriott/1st Bank parking lot) <br />3. The F.un Run,- The Fun Run will take place on <br />Sunday, July lst, 1984 and will utilize the <br />Northside Blvd. route. The race is scheduled <br />to start at 8:00 a.m. and the course, with the <br />exception of St. Louis Boulevard immediately <br />in front of the Park Department, should be <br />reopened by 9:00 a.m. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the above information was accepted and filed. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following six (6) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of permits: <br />1. Armie L. Powell, 730 E. Broadway, S.B. <br />2. Frances Grontkowski, 2321 Bertrand, S.B. <br />3. Syrena Haas, 601 S. State St., Niles <br />4. John Docherty, Sr., 52236 Central Ave. <br />5. Audrey E. Ball, 3602 S. Ironwood, S.B. <br />6. George W. Bateman, 301 E. Borley, Mish. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., Engineering Department, recommended <br />that the Excavation Bond for Jack D. Pritchard, Sr., be approved <br />effective June 25, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Excavation Bond <br />was approved. <br />
