258 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 25, 1984 <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - CITY.OF SOUTH <br />BEND AND ST. JOSEPH COUNTY JOB TRAINING PROGRAM (TESTING <br />SERVICES FOR APPLICANTS TO THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that an Agreement for Professional <br />Services between the City of South Bend and the St. Joseph <br />County Job Training.Program for testing services for applicants <br />to the South Bend Police Department was being submitted to the <br />Board at this time for approval. The Agreement indicates that <br />the City will pay to JTP Ten Dollars ($10.00) per applicant for <br />testing services to be billed to the City's Police Department <br />on a monthly basis. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Agreement was <br />approved and executed. <br />APPROVE BUREAU OF HOUSING NEIGHBORHOOD PAINT -UP PROGRAM AGREEMENT <br />Ms. Janet S. Holston, Director, Bureau of Housing, submitted to <br />the Board for approval one (1) Agreement for Rehabilitation of <br />Real Property between the Board of Public Works and Homeowner <br />and Agreement for the Repair of Real Property between the Board <br />of Public Works and Contractor as follows: <br />HOMEOWNER: Karl Stetler <br />ADDRESS: 1401 Randolph <br />CONTRACTOR: Hanks Enterprise <br />CONTRACT AMOUNT: $542.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above Agreement was approved and executed. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT <br />520 1/2 CUSHING STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Maria G. Rivera, 514 North Cushing <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that she was interested <br />in purchasing the City -owned lot at 520 1/2 Cushing Street as <br />she is an adjoining property owner and wishes to purchase the <br />parcel to improve her property and expand her garden. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above request was referred to the necessary City departments <br />and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City <br />retain the lot for any reason. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES - 1012/1014 FELLOWS <br />STREET; 506 OHIO STREET; 1011 RUSH STREET; 510/514/518 KEASEY <br />STREET; 517/519/521/523/525/529 WENGER STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Peter J. Nemeth, Attorney at Law, <br />Nemeth & Masters, Suite 511, National Bank Building, 112 West <br />Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana., indicated that he is <br />interested in purchasing the above referred to properties. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above request was referred to the necessary City departments <br />and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City <br />retain the lots for anv reason. <br />REQUEST OF ATHLETIC ANNEX TO CONDUCT "STROHS RUIN FOR <br />LIBERTY" (OCTOBER 13, 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Dean A. Reinke, President, Athletic <br />Annex, 1250 Scottsdale Mall, East Ireland Road, South -Bend, <br />Indiana, indicated that he has been asked to coordinate the <br />South Bend "Strohs Run for Liberty" to benefit the fund for <br />the preservation of the Statue of Liberty. On October 13, 1984, <br />there will be one hundred twenty (120) cities across this country <br />that will be conducting Strohs Run for Liberty events. He <br />indicated that he would like to propose that South Bend host <br />such an event on the recommended route starting and finishing <br />at Rum Village Park.
