251 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 18, 1984 <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, in conjunction with Captain <br />Edward Friend, of the Police Department Traffic Division, <br />reviewed the following block party requests submitted to the <br />Board on June 11, 1984 and recommends approval subject to the <br />maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane for <br />emergency purposes. It was noted that the Petitioner will be <br />responsible for the closing and opening of the street and <br />alleys with';barricades to be .provided by the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the following block party requests <br />were approved: <br />1. 800 & 900 BLOCK OF NORTH ADAMS from Lincolnway <br />West to California <br />Sunday, July 15, 1984 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. <br />Petitioner: Mik Perry, 906 North Adams Street <br />2. 400 BLOCK OF NORTH COQUILLARD <br />Saturday, June 30, 1984 from 4:00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. <br />Petitioner: Ms. Tessa McGann, 401 North Coquillard <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - OPEN AIR STANDS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following license applications <br />have been received: <br />1. NAME: <br />Zeke's Electronics <br />BY: <br />Edward & Karlene Zick <br />ADDRESS: <br />60981 U.S. 31 South <br />STAND TO <br />DATES: <br />BE LOCATED AT: 4425 South Michigan Street <br />June 23, 1984 to July 4, 1984 <br />FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF: selling fireworks <br />2. NAME: <br />J.V. Peacock <br />BY: <br />James V. Peacock <br />ADDRESS: <br />16533 Cleveland Road, Granger, Indiana <br />STAND TO <br />BE LOCATED AT: 4615 Miami Road <br />DATES: <br />June 20, 1984 to July 4, 1984 <br />FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF: selling fireworks <br />3. NAME: Meert's <br />BY: Dan Meert <br />ADDRESS: 5215 West Sample Street <br />STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: 5215 West Sample Street <br />DATES: June 22, 1984 to July 5, 1984 <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF: selling fireworks <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Police Department, Department of Code <br />Enforcement and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above <br />applications. Additionally, each applicant provided a letter <br />from the property owner granting permission to erect an open air <br />stand on said property and a copy of the Fireworks Stand Retail <br />Sales Permit issued by the State of Indiana Fire Marshall. <br />Upon a.motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the above license applications were approved and <br />referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following four (4) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />REVISE TO STOP SIGN - On Campeau at Jacobs. (Requested <br />by Bureau of Traffic & Lighting).. <br />
