M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 18, 1984 <br />Leszczynski further advised that in accordance with the award of <br />this bid, a contract in said amount was being submitted for <br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the above bid was awarded and the <br />contract approved. Accordingly, the appropriate insurance, <br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond submitted <br />by Rieth-Riley were filed. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) AERIAL APPARATUS, MINIMUM 100' <br />FOR CITY OF SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell, recom- <br />mended the Board accept the bid of Peter Pirsch & Sons Company, <br />1308 35th Street, Kenosha, WI, for the lease purchase of one <br />(1) 1984 Pirsch 110' Sky Top Aerial Apparatus with pumper. <br />Chief Brassell indicated that Pirsch`s bid of $214,635.00 was <br />the third lowest bid overall, but was the lowest for an aerial <br />equipped with a pump. Also, Pirsch's offer of $12,000.00 for <br />the trade-in vehicle was the highest for a total net bid of <br />$202,635.00. Chief Brassell further indicated that the terms <br />of the lease are also most favorable and the trade-in vehicle <br />will serve as the down payment with the first payment not due <br />until one year after delivery. Further, Chief Brassell stated <br />that the City Attorney's office is in the process of reviewing <br />the Lease Purchase Agreement for this equipment. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Chief <br />Brassell's recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF DEDICATION OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />AS SERVICE DRIVE AND PERMANENT EASEMENT <br />Assistant City Attorney Eugenia S. Schwartz presented to the Board <br />a Dedication of Public Right -of -Way as Service Drive and Permanent <br />Easement. Ms. Schwartz advised that this dedication is the <br />result of discussions held with the South.Bend Public Transporta- <br />tion Corporation, Redevelopment Commission and the Engineering <br />Department and provides for a service drive to lots on Courthouse <br />Square. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the dedication of <br />this right-of-way satisfies the requirement of the proposed <br />north/south alley vacation bounded by Washington, Main, <br />Jefferson and Michigan and will provide access between Main <br />Street and the north/south alley. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />Dedication of public right-of-way was accepted and executed. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND 3-D FIRE <br />APPARATUS FOR RECONDITIONING OF ONE PUMPER APPARATUS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in conjunction with the bid awarded <br />on June 4, 1984, to Fessco Fire and Safety Equipment, Inc., 1441 <br />South llth Street, Niles, Michigan for 3-D Fire Apparatus, <br />Bonduel, Wisconsin, in the amount of $28,650.00, a contract was <br />being submitted at this time. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and.carried, the above <br />contract was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE BUREAU OF HOUSING NEIGHBORHOOD PAINT -UP PROGRAM AGREEMENTS <br />Ms. Janet S. Holston, Director, Bureau of Housing, submitted to <br />the Board for approval two (2) Agreements for Rehabilitation of <br />Real Property between the Board of Public Works and Homeowner <br />and Agreements for the Repair of Real Property between the <br />Board of Public Works and Contractor as follows: <br />1.
