REGULAR.MEETING JUNE 11. 1984 DENY LICENSE APPLICATION - SECONDHAND DEALER Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following secondhand dealer license application has been received: NAME: BUY & SELL SHOP BY: James E. Williams ADDRESS: 1402 South Michigan Street FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: large/small furniture & appliances Mr. Leszczynski further advised that an unfavorable recommendation has been received from the Department of Code Enforcement con- cerning this application. The Department advised that the property at 1402 South Michigan has a vacate, seal & repair order outstanding on the property and therefore recommended denial of the license. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recommendation of the Department of Code Enforcement was accepted and the license denied. DENY LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following open air stand license application has been received: NAME: Roy Ward BY: Roy Ward ADDRESS: 1921 South Brookfield STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: 1921 South Brookfield DATES: 6-1-84 to ? FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Candy, pop, fruit Mr. Leszczynski further advised that an unfavorable recommendation has been received from the Department of Code Enforcement concern- ing this application. The Department advised that the property at 1921 South Brookfield is zoned "A" Residential and not an approved zoning area for an open air stand, and therefore would recommend that the application be denied. Upon a motion made by Mr., Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recom- mendation of the Department of Code Enforcement was accepted and the application denied. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND Mr'. Leszczynski advised that the following license application has been received: NAME: P & J Vegtable Market BY: Robert Randall ADDRESS: 911 Humphreys Ct., SB, IN STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: 515 Western Avenue DATES: Present - Fall, 1984 FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: fruits & vegetables Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police Department, Department of Code Enforcement and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above application. It was noted that a letter from the owner of the property on which the stand is to be located granting permission was attached to the application. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance.
