REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 1984 <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following four (4) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: Grandpa's Goldmine <br />BY: Cynthia Buswell <br />ADDRESS: 3602 Mishawaka Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Antiques, used books <br />NAME: The Light Owl <br />BY: Ron Gordon <br />ADDRESS: 529 Lincolnway West <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Old light fixtures <br />NAME: J R'S Antiques & Gifts <br />BY: Jean H. Rideout <br />ADDRESS 110 East Madison <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: An and gifts <br />NAME Sample Simon <br />BY: Margaret A. Widman <br />ADDRESS: 413 East Sample Street <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: New and used miscellaneous merchandise <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have <br />been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department <br />of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the <br />above applications. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license applications were approved <br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following license application has <br />been received: <br />NAME: Bellairs Seafood <br />BY: Andrea Bellairs <br />STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: 325 South Logan Street <br />DATES: May 19, 1984 through August <br />FORTHEPURPOSE OF SELLING: Seafood/produce <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations on <br />this application have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department. The Department of Code <br />Enforcement advised that 325 South Logan Street is in an "A" <br />Residential area. However, because of the prior use of this <br />Property for open air stands and because of the location between <br />two establishments zoned "C" commercial it has been the Board's <br />position to recommend approval of said location. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above license application was approved subject to the applicant. <br />providing the necessary letter from the property owner indicating <br />permission to use said location, and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance. <br />REQUEST TO HAVE SPACE IN FRONT OF 1218 NORTH OLIVE STREET <br />DESIGNATED AS A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE REFERRED <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mary Adams, 1218 North Adams <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the parking space <br />in front of her house at 1218 North Olive Street be designated <br />as a handicapped parking space. She indicated that because <br />she lives near a nursery school she is experiencing difficulty <br />in being able to park in front of her home. Ms. Adams additionally <br />submitted an application for a handicapped parking permit and <br />verification of disability from her doctor. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
