213 REGULAR MEETING 14AY 14, 1984 APPROVE REQUEST OF MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE, INC. TO CONDUCT PARADE - MAY 19, 1984 Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Maurice Matthys Little League submitted to the Board on April 30, 1984 and recommends approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Mr. Wadzinski's recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF ATHLETIC ANNEX TO CONDUCT RUNNING EVENT ON MAY 20, 1984 Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the request of Mr. Dean A. Reinke, President.Athletic Annex, submitted to the Board on March 19, 1984 to conduct a running event on May 20, 1984 to be known as the Governor's Cup Race and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT 14TH ANNUAL ST. JOSEPH RIVER RUN (MAY 19 1984) Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of the Athletic Annex to conduct the 14th_Annual St.. Joseph River Run submitted to the Board on April 16, 1984 and recommends approval. Mr. Wadzinski recommends the same traffic pattern. as used in previous years. Riverside Drive from Bartlett to Lafayette is to be closed to controlled use traffic only, Bartlett Street from Michigan to Riverside is to be closed to control use traffic only, Park Lane is to be closed from Lafayette Boulevard to Michigan Street for controlled use traffic only and no parking portables will be placed in the area at the discretion of the Traffic Division and bureaus. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request approved. DENY REQUEST TO CLOSE EAST NAVARRE STREET FOR A GRADUATION PARTY - MAY 19. 1984 Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Mr. Christopher Ritten, 121 E. Navarre, to close Navarre Street from Michigan to St. Joseph for a graduation party submitted to the Board on May 7, 1984 and recommends denial based on the fact that Michigan Street at Navarre is the only signalized intersection allowing unrestricted ingress/egress to the area. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that numerous objections from the residents of the area and from the first district council- man have been received concerning this request. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was denied. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following four (4) handicapped parking permit applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of permits: Anna M. Johnson, 16325 Fairfield, Granger Esther D. Gordon, 315 E. Indiana, S.B. Louise S. Kapalczynski, 515 E. Monroe, Apt. 207, S.B. Mary Adams, 1218 N. Olive, S.B.
