P.M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 30, 1984 <br />1 <br />REQUEST OF MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE, INC. <br />TO CONDUCT PARADE - MAY'19 1984 REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bob Gorbacz, President, Matthys <br />Little League, Box 3074, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission <br />to conduct a parade on Saturday, May 19, 1984 beginning at 10:00 a.m. <br />The route to be used is as follows: Beginning at the Little League <br />Ball Park, west on Meadow Lane to Edison, north on Edison and <br />VillageWay to Washington, east on Washington to Gladstone, north <br />on Gladstone to Linden, west on Linden to Lombardy Drive, south <br />on Lombardy Drive to Ford, west on Ford to Sample, east on Sample <br />to Evergreen, south on Evergreen back to the ball park. Mr. <br />Gorbacz advised that the parade will consist of approximately <br />sixty (60) vehicles. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred <br />to the Bureau.of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF UNITED RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY OF ST. JOSEPH <br />COUNTY TO HOLD A MARCH - MAY'20, 1984 REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. James Fisko, Executive Director, <br />United Religious Community of St. Joseph County, 319 South Main <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to hold a march <br />on Sunday, May 20, 1984 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Fiskoadvised <br />that the marchers will assemble at St. Patrick's Church, 309 <br />South Taylor Street and then proceed north on Taylor to Washington <br />Street;.east on Washington to St. Joseph; south on St. Joseph to <br />Jefferson; and east on Jefferson to Frances Street; north on <br />Frances Street to Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, 115 South <br />Frances Street. The marchers will stay on the sidewalk and <br />observe traffic signals. Mr. Fisko further advised that approx- <br />imately two hundred (200) to two -hundred fifty (250) participants <br />are expected and marshals will be provided to lead the march and <br />keep order. It was noted that this march is part of the observance <br />of Peace Sabbath and will be similar to that held last year. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,. seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Light- <br />ing and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following eight (8) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of permits: <br />Clara H.
