1172 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 16, 1984 <br />RESOLUTION NO'. 7-1984 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, has compiled a current detailed inventory of <br />all real property owned by the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Publid Works has reviewed said <br />inventory of real property and it finds that certain of <br />the parcels of real estate now owned by the City of South <br />Bend are not necessary to the public use and are not set <br />aside by State and City laws for public purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works now wishes to take <br />the necessary action to make it possible for the Board, <br />in the future, to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant <br />to State Statutes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />That the parcels of real estate owned by <br />the City contained in the following list <br />are not necessary to the public use and <br />are not set aside by State or City laws <br />for public purposes: <br />ADDRESS: DEED N0. <br />1506 <br />Orange <br />Street <br />1035 <br />1508 <br />Orange <br />Street <br />1034 <br />1519 <br />Liston <br />Street <br />978 <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of April, 1984. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAM FOR 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that requests have been received by the <br />Board for permission to garden on City -owned lots located through- <br />out the City. He stated that the Community Garden Program has <br />been in effect for the past ten (10) years and interested citizens <br />are requested to sign a release form which sets forth certain rules <br />and regulations pertaining to the use of the property. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the Community Garden Program for 1984 was approved. <br />ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTH APPLICATIONS REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director of Community <br />Affairs, and Ms. Sue Cunningham, City Volunteer Coordinator, have. <br />submitted to the Board for approval twenty-three (23) craft booth <br />applications, fifteen (15) food booth applications and three (3) <br />display booth applications. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above applications were <br />referred to the City Controller's office for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF COUNCIL FOR THE RETARDED TO <br />CLOSE WALL STREET FOR "FUN DAY" (MAY 18, 1984) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski has reviewed the <br />above request submitted to the Board+on April 9, 1984 and recommends <br />approval.
