REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27, 1984 <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - CALVERT STREET PAVING <br />(WEST OF MAPLE ROAD) PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Title Sheet was approved <br />and signed. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS TO CONDUCT VARIOUS EVENTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Captain Thomas Gargis of the <br />South Bend Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />following requests and ,recommend approval: <br />1. "PEPSI CHALLENGE" RUN to be held on April 8, <br />1984. Request o At letic Annex presented <br />to the Board on January 16, 1984. <br />2. "HUMAN RACE" to be held on June 23, 1984. <br />Request o Broadway Christian Parish and <br />YMCA presented to the Board on February 13, 1984. <br />3. "CROP HUNGER WALK" to be held on April 15, 1984. <br />Request of Justice & Peace Center presented to <br />the Board on February 21, 1984. Walkers to <br />remain on sidewalks and obey all pedestrian laws. <br />4. "6TH ANNUAL CORVILLA FUN RUN" to be held on <br />July 15, 1984. Request o St. Ada.lbert's <br />Church presented to the Board on January 16, <br />1984. Time and date recommended for approval. <br />Route to be the same as used in previous years <br />but minor route changes may be necessary. <br />Petitioner will be advised to contact Captain <br />Gargis to discuss further details. <br />5. ST. JOSEPH COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION "FUN RUN" to <br />be held on May 6, 1984. It is recommended that <br />the run begin in the morning starting at the <br />Courthouse, if there are less than 100 <br />participants, and finishing at Howard Park. <br />Petitioner will be advised to contact Captain <br />Gargis for manpower arrangements. <br />6. "HERITAGE BAPTIST CHURCH PARADE" to be held on <br />March 31, 1984. It is recommended that the <br />date be reserved for this event. Petitioner <br />will be advised to contact Captain Gargis and <br />Mr. Ralph Wadzinski with additional information <br />and for manpower arrangements. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above requests were.approved subject to the above <br />referred to details being completed with Mr. Wadzinski and <br />Captain Gargis. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC.CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: <br />INSTALL MULTI -WAY STOP TEMPORARY - Clayton & York. (Due to <br />construction on Erskine Manor Hill at Miami, Clayton, at <br />York has been temporarily reopened). Requested by Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting. <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On Bellvue at Mishawaka Ave. (Uncontrolled <br />tee intersection of local street with an aeterial). Request <br />by Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />
