E <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 6, 1984 <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Rubbish and Garbage License <br />application has been received from the City of South Bend <br />Bureau of Solid Waste. It was noted that inspections of the <br />trucks to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau <br />and were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS — PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr.. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the following license applications were approved and <br />referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance: <br />1. National Autopark, Inc. <br />119 West Wayne Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />2. Tower Federal Savings & Loan Association <br />112 South William <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that a favorable fire inspection of the National <br />Autopark, Inc. parking facility was provided by the Fire <br />Department. The required proof of insurance as well as the <br />hours and rates to be charged were attached to the applications. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />Name: The Boutique Exchange <br />By: Thomas Kennedy <br />Address: 511 East Jefferson Blvd. <br />For the purpose of selling: secondhand clothing, retail <br />Name: Memory Lane Antique Shop <br />By: Deborah Marchesi <br />Address: 2810 Mishawaka Avenue <br />For the purpose of selling: antiques,,collectables, jewlery, etc. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have <br />been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department of <br />Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the <br />above applications. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license applications were <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO DENY TAXI DRIVER'S LICENSE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph E. Kernan, City Controller, <br />submitted his recommendation for denial of the taxi driver's <br />license application of Mr. Patrick Sheldon, 416 West 3rd Street, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana. The recommendation for denial is based on <br />the Police Department's investigation and subsequent recommendation <br />for denial because the applicant has a suspended license. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />Mr. Kernan's recommendation to deny the license was approved. <br />Mr. Kernan abstained from voting. It was noted that the above <br />referred to applicant will be notified of the denial and given <br />the opportunity to request a public hearing on the matter. <br />
