E REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 6, 1984 APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION RUBBISH AND GARBAGE Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Rubbish and Garbage License application has been received from the City of South Bend Bureau of Solid Waste. It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS — PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY Upon a motion made by Mr.. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the following license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance: 1. National Autopark, Inc. 119 West Wayne Street South Bend, Indiana 2. Tower Federal Savings & Loan Association 112 South William South Bend, Indiana It was noted that a favorable fire inspection of the National Autopark, Inc. parking facility was provided by the Fire Department. The required proof of insurance as well as the hours and rates to be charged were attached to the applications. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALERS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) secondhand dealers license applications have been received: Name: The Boutique Exchange By: Thomas Kennedy Address: 511 East Jefferson Blvd. For the purpose of selling: secondhand clothing, retail Name: Memory Lane Antique Shop By: Deborah Marchesi Address: 2810 Mishawaka Avenue For the purpose of selling: antiques,,collectables, jewlery, etc. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the above applications. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO DENY TAXI DRIVER'S LICENSE In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph E. Kernan, City Controller, submitted his recommendation for denial of the taxi driver's license application of Mr. Patrick Sheldon, 416 West 3rd Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. The recommendation for denial is based on the Police Department's investigation and subsequent recommendation for denial because the applicant has a suspended license. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Mr. Kernan's recommendation to deny the license was approved. Mr. Kernan abstained from voting. It was noted that the above referred to applicant will be notified of the denial and given the opportunity to request a public hearing on the matter.
