N <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1984 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was approved and a date of February 21, <br />1984 was established for the receiving of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />STREET MATERIALS AND FUELS <br />In a letter to the Board, Sean Watt, Director, Division of Trans- <br />portation, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of <br />sealed bids for street materials and fuels. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Le.s.zczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE INTENDED USE HEARING OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS <br />1984 SUMMER CLEAN-UP PROGRAM, VEHICLES FOR THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF CODE ENFORCEMENT AND -BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING <br />AND THE EAST SECTOR POLICE SUBSTATION ($178,800.00) <br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz requested Board approval <br />for an intended use hearing on the following proposed expenditure <br />of revenue sharing funds: <br />1984 Summer Clean -Up Program $ 43,800.00 <br />Vehicles for the Department of $ 60,000.00 <br />Code,Enforcement and the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting <br />East Sector Police Substation $ 75,000.00 <br />TOTAL $178,800.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was approved and a date of February 21, 1984 <br />was set for the public hearing on the intended use of the revenue <br />sharing funds. <br />REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION TO <br />CONDUCT "FUN RUN" (MAY 6, 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. Jeffery A. Johnson on behalf of the <br />St. Joseph County Bar Association requested permission to conduct <br />a 5K "Fun Run" on Sunday, May 6, 1984. The run would be in <br />conjunction with various Law.Day activities being sponsored by <br />the St. Joseph County Bar Association. The race will begin at <br />the courthouse and end either at Howard Park or at the courthouse, <br />with details still to be worked out. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF HERITAGE BAPTIST CHURCH TO CONDUCT <br />STREET PARADE (MARCH 31, 1984) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. Louis Love, Jr., Assistant Pastor <br />of the Heritage Baptist Church, 2821 West Sample Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission for a street parade to be <br />held on March 31, 1984 at 10:00 as a church activity. The parade <br />will begin at Sample and Liberty and proceed on Liberty north to <br />Ford Street, Ford west to Wellington, Wellington south to Dunham, <br />Dunham east to Liberty to the Church. Pastor -Love indicated that <br />the parade will include three (3) cars, one (1) fire truck, two <br />(2) buses, forty (40) bicycles, three (3) floats, two (2) state <br />troopers and two (2) county police. Upon a motion made by Mr.. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />L <br />1 <br />
