<br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr.. Hill
<br />and carried, the following fifteen (15) handicapped parking
<br />permit applications were approved and referred to the Deputy
<br />Controller's office for issuance of permits:

<br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT
<br />The report submitted to the Board indicated a total of twenty-
<br />seven (27) outages for the period December 2, 1983 to December
<br />16, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed.
<br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT
<br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a
<br />total of twenty (20) properties cleaned from December 19, 1983
<br />to December 22, 1983 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the report
<br />was filed.
<br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Cole Associates,
<br />Inc. and Cole Associates of Michigan, Inc., 2211 East Jefferson
<br />Boulevard, South,Bend, Indiana, was accepted and filed.
<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim Docket
<br />No. 25927 through Claim Docket No. 26710 and recommended
<br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed and the claims
<br />approved.
<br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR:
<br />PEDDLER'S LICENSE - RALPH H. MILES
<br />Mr. Ralph H. Miles of Universal Custom Pillows, P.O. Box 3028,
<br />South Bend, Indiana was present and addressed the Board
<br />regarding the matter of the denial of his application for
<br />a Peddler's License and explained what his company proposed
<br />to do. It was noted that at its meeting held on Monday
<br />December 19, 1983, based on the recommendation of City
<br />Controller Joseph E. Kernan, the Board denied the Peddler's
<br />License application of Mr. Milesdue to incomplete information
<br />being provided on the application form. It was additionally
<br />noted that Mr. Miles was notified of this denial and given
<br />the opportunity to request a hearing before the Board on
<br />this matter.
