REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 27, 1983 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />carried, the above bids of Hurwich Iron <br />the Department of Code Enforcement for <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />Company were referred to <br />review and recommendation. <br />The following Community Development contract was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF SOUTH BEND, <br />MISHAWAKA & ST. JOSEPH COUNTY,. INC. <br />BUSINESS & TECHNOLOGY CENTER LICENSING ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to create nine <br />(9) jobs which are available to low/moderate income. <br />individuals. In addition, 51% of all jobs created <br />through the operation of this center must be <br />available to low/moderate income individuals. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$50,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above contract was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND <br />THE DIRECTORS OF THE BOARD OF WATERWORKS <br />Mr. Leszczynski.presented to the Board Agreements between the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana and Aloysius Kromkowski, Theodessa <br />Earles and Wallace Gartee for services as Directors of the <br />Board of Waterworks. It was noted that the Directors shall <br />receive the sum of $3,400.00 per year for services rendered, <br />payable in equal monthly increments. It was additionally <br />noted that the term of the contract for Aloysious Kromkowski <br />shall be from January 1, 1984 until December 31, 1985, the <br />term of Theodessa Earles shall be from January 1, 1984 until <br />December 31, 1986 and the term of Wallace Gartee shall be from <br />January 1, 1984 until December 31, 1984. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />Agreements were approved and executed. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 27-1983 - SCRAP & JUNK <br />DEALERS LICENSE RENEWALS FOR 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board Resolution No. 27-1983 <br />recommending that sixteen (16) scrap and junk dealers licenses <br />be approved for renewal for 1984. He advised that favorable <br />recommendations have been received from the Department of <br />Code Enforcement and the Fire Department Prevention Bureau. <br />concerning these applications. <br />Katherine Barnard, Director, De <br />advised that Hurwich Iron Compa <br />agreed to have the fence surro <br />May 1, 1984 and she therefore r <br />renewal at this time.
