Hurwich Iron Co. is capable of and will abide_
by all of the specific requirements for the
successful bidder for the storage of abandoned
vehicles.
Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforce-
ment, indicated that Hurwich Iron Company, Inc. currently
holds the contracts with the City for the towing and storage
of abandoned vehicles. She further indicated that the bids
submitted today reflect an increase in the charge for the
towing of abandoned vehicles. She advised the Board that
this is due to the fact that on_occasion Hurwich is sent
out to tow a vehicle only to have the owner advise Hurwich
that they will move the vehicle themselves resulting in
Hurwich not being paid for the tow.
