REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1985 <br />Chevrolets would be available. However, at this time, they have <br />not been able to provide the vehicles. As a result of their <br />failure to supply the vehicles as requested, the Department is <br />asking permission to purchase three (3) Ford LTD's in their <br />place. The use of these vehicles as opposed to the front -wheel <br />drive Chevrolets will have no adverse affect on the department. <br />Further, it was noted that the Ford LTD's will be purchased at <br />$6,497.00 while the Chevy Celebrities listed at $6,997.00. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, <br />the recommendation as submitted was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />following block party requests and recommend approval subject to <br />the maintenance of a ten foot (101) clear unobstructed lane at <br />either curb or down the center of the street for emergency <br />purposes: <br />1. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF KIWANIS CLUB OF SOUTH BEND TO CONDUCT <br />INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS - SEPTEMBER 14, 1985 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the request of the <br />Kiwanis Club of South Bend to conduct their 50th Annual Newspaper <br />Sale intersection solicitation submitted to the Board on <br />September 3, 1985, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department Traffic Division has reviewed said request and <br />recommend the following: <br />1 <br />
