REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1985 Chevrolets would be available. However, at this time, they have not been able to provide the vehicles. As a result of their failure to supply the vehicles as requested, the Department is asking permission to purchase three (3) Ford LTD's in their place. The use of these vehicles as opposed to the front -wheel drive Chevrolets will have no adverse affect on the department. Further, it was noted that the Ford LTD's will be purchased at $6,497.00 while the Chevy Celebrities listed at $6,997.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendation as submitted was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the following block party requests and recommend approval subject to the maintenance of a ten foot (101) clear unobstructed lane at either curb or down the center of the street for emergency purposes: 1. APPROVE REQUEST OF TEMPLE BETH-EL FOR PARKING ASSISTANCE DURING HOLYDAY SERVICES Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the request of Temple Beth -El for parking assistance during their Holyday services, said request submitted to the Board on September 3, 1985, and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF KIWANIS CLUB OF SOUTH BEND TO CONDUCT INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS - SEPTEMBER 14, 1985 Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the request of the Kiwanis Club of South Bend to conduct their 50th Annual Newspaper Sale intersection solicitation submitted to the Board on September 3, 1985, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division has reviewed said request and recommend the following: 1
