Lafayette & Colfax ( South <br />Bend Tribune) <br />APPROVE INTERSECTIONS WHERE CITY HAS ONLY PARTIAL <br />JURISDICTION: <br />1. Ironwood & Ewing <br />2. McKinley & Logan <br />3. Angela & Eddy <br />4. L.W.E. & Ironwood <br />It was noted that the City has no jurisdiction to approve <br />solicitations at the following locations, as both are private <br />property: <br />1. Farmers Market <br />2. North Village Mall <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that intersection solicitations are to <br />take place on sidewalks only and not in the streets. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the recommendations as submitted were accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />DENY PETITION REQUEST FOR ONE-WAY PARKING ON EAST MINER STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />Petition submitted on October 31, 1983, by Mr. Frank L. Bass, <br />1111 East Miner Street, South Bend, Indiana, requesting one-way <br />parking on East Miner Street and recommend that the request be <br />denied. Denial is based on the fact that there is insufficient <br />off-street parking to remove parking on one -side of the street. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the Petition submitted <br />contained less than fifty -percent (50%) of the property owners in <br />the area. Mr. Bass will be requested to secure the signatures of <br />more than fifty -percent (50%) of the property owners and resubmit <br />the petition, if he wishes to continue the matter, as well as <br />advising where the _affected property owners plan to park their <br />vehicles if the request were approved and parking made one-way on <br />East Miner Street. Further, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />will continue to monitor the situation should circumstances <br />change to warrant the requested parking restriction. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request as <br />submitted was denied. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION - NO PARKING - On both sides of Ivy <br />from Edison to South Bend Avenue. (Requested by <br />Police Department). <br />
