REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 3, 1985 Preferentiality shall be established at the intersection of U.S. 20 (LaSalle Street) and U.S. 33 (Main Street) in the City of South Bend as follows: This intersection is signalized and in the event of need for a flashing operation of the signals, this signal shall flash RED to the North, West and East approaches. All traffic on ail approaches shall STOP before entering the intersection of U.S. 20 (LaSalle Street) and U.S. 33 (Main Street) during the flashing operation of the traffic signal. Note: There are only three (3) approaches to this intersection. U.S. 33 (Main Street) is one-way southbound. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above referred to IDOH Official Action was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - RECONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION # 7 (1616 PORTAGE) In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the reconstruction of Fire Station #7 located at 1616 Portage. Chief Brassell advised that the project involves raising the overall height of the north apparatus bay and enlarging the door. This work is necessary to accommodate larger and higher modern aerial equipment. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was approved. REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND HOLIDAY PARADE COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT HOLIDAY PARADE - NOVEMBER 16, 1985, REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Ms. Bernice Sonneborn, Chairman, and Rick Kring, Co -Chairman, Holiday Parade Committee, P.O. Box 1022, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the South Bend Holiday Parade Committee sponsored by Center City Associates, request permission to have the Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 16, 1985 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Holiday Parade Committee will work with the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division to formulate an acceptable route for the parade. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. REQUEST OF TEMPLE BETH-EL FOR PARKING ASSISTANCE DURING HOLYDAY SERVICES REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Barbara M. Medich, Secretary, Temple Beth -El, 305 West Madison Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to allow the congregation to park on both sides of The Temple block on West Madison Street and North Lafayette Boulevard for Holyday Services as follows: Sunday September 15 8:15 p.m. Monday September 16 9:00 a.m.-1:00 P.M. Tuesday September 24 8:15 p.m. Wednesday September 25 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. They additionally request that the City supply "No Parking" signs. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request as submitted was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
