REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 3, 1985 APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENTS - - 125 EAST DAYTON STREET 318 NORTH CUSHING STREET - 308 FULTON COURT SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT: - 535 EAST DAYTON STREET Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, Purchase Agreements for the following City -owned lots were approved and executed and the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for the drafting of the appropriate Quit -Claim Deeds: 125 EAST DAYTON STREET: Bid Awarded On: August 12, 1985 Buyer: Mr. & Mrs. Aldred Bolden Address: 129 East Dayton Street Purchase Price: $50.00 318 NORTH CUSHING STREET Bid Awarded On: August 5, 1985 Buyer: Mr. & Mrs. Solon Orfanos Address: 308 North Cushing Purchase Price: $140.00 308 FULTON COURT Bid Awarded On: August 5, 1985 Buyer: Ms. Doris Milewski Address: 1009 West LaSalle Purchase Price: $60.00 535 EAST DAYTON STREET Bid Awarded On: August 12, 1875 Buyer: Mr. Ben Leal, Jr. Address: 601 East Dayton Street Purchase Price: $35.00 AWARD BID - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 1985 AND ENDING JULY 31, 1986 In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Charles T. Hurley advised that he has reviewed the bids submitted on August 26, 1985 for the above referred to service and recommends that the City retain the services of Hi -Speed Car Wash, 609 East LaSalle, South Bend for full -service car wash at their two (2) locations at 609 East LaSalle and 2615 Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana, at the rate of $3.25 each for 1-100 units per month and $3.00 each for. 100 or more units per month as well as $4.50 each for jeeps and $3.00 each for motorcycles. Additionally, Chief Hurley recommended the award for wet -wash only to Don's Marathon, 1836 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, at the rate of $1.60 each for 1-100 units per month and $1.45 each for 100 or more units per month. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bids awarded. It was noted that the City Attorney's office will be preparing the appropriate contracts with Hi -Speed Car Wash and Don's Marathon for this service. APPROVE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS - OFFICIAL ACTION Mr. Leszczynski submitted to the Board for approval an Official Action from the Indiana Department of Highways advising that the IDOH proposes to make certain traffic control improvements on U.S. 20 (LaSalle Street) and U.S. 33 (Main Street) in the City of South Bend. In order to facilitate the movements of traffic over the route and conform with minimum standards set up by the IDOH the following traffic controls must be established as determined by proper engineering investigation:
