c REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 27, 1985 3. LINCOLNWAY WEST CURB IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CONTRACTOR: Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc. P.O. Box 1775 South Bend, Indiana INCREASE: $13,138.76 NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $67,133.76 It was noted that the Change Order reflects changes in six (6) contract items. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit indicating the new final cost was approved and the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond was accepted for filing as submitted. 4. CONCRETE PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS - 1985 PROJECT CONTRACTOR: McIntyre & Jones Construction Co., Inc. 2526 West 6th Street Mishawaka, Indiana INCREASE: $27,456.32 NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $142,951.87 It was noted that the Change Order reflects an increase in cost due to additional areas in need of repair that were added to the project as well as reinforcement of the intersection of Kenmore and Sample Streets. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit indicating the new final cost was approved and the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond was accepted for filing as submitted. AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - NHS PHASE II (CORBY BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENTS) PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction, recommended that the Board accept the bid of Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc., 25487 West US 2, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $45,330.00. It was noted that bids for this project were opened by the Board on August 19, 1985. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that in accordance with the award of this bid, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above bid was awarded and the Contract approved, and the appropriate insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond were accepted for filing as submitted. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - NAPIER & WAYNE CURB & WALK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on August 12, 1985, to McIntyre & Jones Construction Company, Inc., 2526 West 6th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $43,447.50 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1039/1041 LA SALLE COURT REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Ms. Denise Jacobson, 1045 LaSalle Court, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that she was interested in purchasing the City -owned property at 1039 and 1041 LaSalle 1 1
