REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 27, 1985 APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS The following Community Development Contracts were presented to the Board for approval: LINCOLNWAY WEST BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, INC. LINCOLNWAY WEST COMMERCIAL REVOLVING LOAN FUND The targeted goal for this activity is to provide loan/grant assistance to seven (7) businesses. Funds for this activity may be used only on Lincolnway West from LaSalle Street to Olive Street and shall not exceed $100,000.00. SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION WEST WASHINGTON COMMERCIAL LOAN ACTIVITY The targeted goal for this activity is to provide loans to three (3) businesses in the area. The initial funds for this activity may be used only on West Washington Street from Laurel to College and/or Walnut Street from Western to Colfax. As monies are returned to this fund, loans may also be made on Chapin Street from Washington to Western. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $50,000.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Contracts were approved and executed. APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVITS: 1. NEWMAN BUILDING REMODELING PROJECT 2. INLET RECONSTRUCTION - 1985 PROJECT 3 LINCOLNWAY WEST CURB IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 4. CONCRETE PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS - 1985 PROJECT Mr. Leszczynski advised that Contractors have submitted Change Orders No. 1 (Final) and Project Completion Affidavits for the following projects: 1. NEWMAN BUILDING REMODELING PROJECT CONTRACTOR: Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc. 25487 West State Road 2 P.O. Box 3605 South Bend, Indiana INCREASE: $1,143.00 NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $38,743.00 Mr. Leszczynski advised that at the request of the Department of Redevelopment, an additional office was added to the project creating the increased cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit indicating the new final cost was approved subject to the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond. 2. INLET RECONSTRUCTION - 1985 PROJECT CONTRACTOR: H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor, Inc. 58600 Executive Drive Mishawaka, Indiana INCREASE: $2,400.00 NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $46,325.00 It was noted that the new contract amount includes an additional cost to correct a drainage problem at the intersection of Pulaski and Western as well as reflecting a liquidated damages assessment for failure to complete the project on time. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit indicating the new final cost was approved and the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond was accepted for filing as submitted.
