REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 27, 1985 <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />The following Community Development Contracts were presented to <br />the Board for approval: <br />LINCOLNWAY WEST BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, INC. <br />LINCOLNWAY WEST COMMERCIAL REVOLVING LOAN FUND <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide loan/grant <br />assistance to seven (7) businesses. Funds for this activity <br />may be used only on Lincolnway West from LaSalle Street to <br />Olive Street and shall not exceed $100,000.00. <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />WEST WASHINGTON COMMERCIAL LOAN ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide loans to <br />three (3) businesses in the area. The initial funds for this <br />activity may be used only on West Washington Street from <br />Laurel to College and/or Walnut Street from Western to <br />Colfax. As monies are returned to this fund, loans may also <br />be made on Chapin Street from Washington to Western. The <br />total cost of this activity shall not exceed $50,000.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the above Contracts were approved and executed. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION <br />AFFIDAVITS: <br />1. NEWMAN BUILDING REMODELING PROJECT <br />2. INLET RECONSTRUCTION - 1985 PROJECT <br />3 LINCOLNWAY WEST CURB IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />4. CONCRETE PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS - 1985 PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Contractors have submitted Change <br />Orders No. 1 (Final) and Project Completion Affidavits for the <br />following projects: <br />1. NEWMAN BUILDING REMODELING PROJECT <br />CONTRACTOR: Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc. <br />25487 West State Road 2 <br />P.O. Box 3605 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />INCREASE: $1,143.00 <br />NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $38,743.00 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that at the request of the <br />Department of Redevelopment, an additional office was <br />added to the project creating the increased cost. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion <br />Affidavit indicating the new final cost was approved subject to <br />the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond. <br />2. INLET RECONSTRUCTION - 1985 PROJECT <br />CONTRACTOR: H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor, Inc. <br />58600 Executive Drive <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />INCREASE: $2,400.00 <br />NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $46,325.00 <br />It was noted that the new contract amount includes an <br />additional cost to correct a drainage problem at the <br />intersection of Pulaski and Western as well as <br />reflecting a liquidated damages assessment for failure <br />to complete the project on time. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion <br />Affidavit indicating the new final cost was approved and the <br />appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond was accepted for filing <br />as submitted. <br />
