REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 15, 1985 <br />APPROVE SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />Mr. Vance advised that a Sidewalk Sale Permit application has been <br />received as follows: <br />Applicant: Richard D. Houser <br />Address: 19734 Hildebrand . <br />Name of Business: Robertson's Department Store <br />Location: 120 South Michigan Street <br />Dates: July 18, 19, 20, 1985 <br />For the Purpose of: Selling dry goods <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the above referred to Sidewalk Sale Permit application <br />was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance of a permit. <br />SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION REFERRED <br />Mr. Vance advised that a Sidewalk Sale Permit Application has been <br />received from Mr. John Myers, 1514 North Brookfield Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, to sell miscellaneous items at 1107 L.W.W., South <br />Bend, Indiana from July 22, 1985 to August 5, 1985. Upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />application was referred to the Department of Code Enforcement for <br />review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />REVISE TO NO PARKING TOW AWAY ZONE - 100 W. Washington - <br />South Side, East 1/2 block. (Temporary drive for <br />construction of T.C.U.). <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MONTGOMERY WARD TO LOCATE TEMPORARY TRAILER <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. J.B. Kolo, Telemarketing Manager, <br />Montgomery Ward Telemarketing, 3002 South Michigan, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to place an eight foot (8') by <br />thirty-two foot (321) trailer adjacent to their present location <br />at 3002 South Michigan Street. He advised that their present <br />quarters are staffed to capacity and the trailer will be <br />temporarily used as the training site for new and current <br />employees until such time as they relocate the operation to larger <br />facilities. It is anticipated that they will be in their new <br />facility around September or October. It was noted that this <br />request has been reviewed by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Fire Department and Building Department and they recommend <br />approval subject to the following requirements being met: <br />- All necessary permits must be secured from the <br />Building Department. <br />- Location must be coordinated with the Engineering <br />Department and the Building Department with a <br />parking area in the rear. <br />- All electrical codes for hook-up must be met. <br />- The trailer must be properly tied -down, bolted <br />and secured. <br />- The trailer must be used for a classroom only. <br />- There must be an adequate restroom facilities in the <br />building adjacent to the trailer. <br />
