Ms. Barnard seconded the motion, it carried, and the matter <br />was referred to the City Attorney's office -for the drafting. of the <br />appropriate closing documents. <br />AWARD BID - RECONSTRUCTION OF ROOF OF FIRE STATION NO. 3 - 1805 MC <br />KINLEY AVENUE <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell advised <br />that after careful review of the bid received on June 8, 1985 for <br />the above referred to project, the Fire Department would like to <br />recommend that the bid be awarded to Midland Engineering Company, <br />52369 U.S. 33 North, South Bend,Indiana, in the amount of <br />$17,536.00. It was noted that that amount consists of the base <br />bid of $16,985.00 plus the optional surfacing charge of $1,315.00 <br />but minus the $764.00 charge for the alternate roofing guarantee. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 20-1985 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE <br />EQUIPMENT (DIVISION OF TRANSPORTATION) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. William Penn, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, recommended that various miscellaneous equipment <br />be disposed of as it is no longer needed by the Division of <br />Transportation. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the following Resolution No. <br />20-1985 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20-1985 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following equipment is no longer needed <br />by the Division of Transportation of the City of South <br />Bend: <br />SEE ATTACHED EXHIBIT A <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal <br />of personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the above equipment <br />is hereby declared to be obsolete and no longer needed by <br />the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Division of Transporta- <br />tion of the City of South Bend be authorized to dispose of <br />said equipment pursuant to statute and to remove the same <br />from the City Inventory. <br />DATED this 15th day of July, 1985. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/Katherine G.
