REGULAR MEETING JULY 15, 1985 <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr: Vance and carried, the <br />Purchase Agreement was approved and the matter referred to the <br />City Attorney's office for drafting of the appropriate Quit -Claim <br />Deed. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR FOOT RACES <br />AND SIMILAR EVENTS - ST. JUDE'S CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL "SUPERWALK" - <br />JULY 20, 1985 <br />Mr. Vance advised that pursuant to Resolution No. 9-1985, <br />establishing policies and fees for foot races and similar events, <br />adopted by the Board of Public Works on March 4, 1985, the sponsor <br />of the following event has fulfilled resolution requirements and <br />the appropriate Agreement is being presented to the Board at this <br />time for approval: <br />St. Jude's Children's Research July 20, 1985 <br />Hospital "Superwalk" <br />It was noted that on March 4, 1985, the Board of Public Works <br />approved the date for this event subject to the sponsor meeting <br />all Resolution requirements. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE RESOLUTION AND NOTICE OF OFFICIAL ACTION OF INDIANA <br />DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC CONTROLS AT U.S. 20 <br />Mr. Vance advised that the Board has received a Resolution and <br />Notice of Official Action of the Indiana Department of Highways <br />establishing traffic controls at U.S. 20 as follows: <br />Parking shall be restricted on U.S. 20 in the City of South <br />Bend, St. Joseph County, as follows: <br />"No Parking Anytime" on both sides of U.S. 20 (Colfax Street) <br />from St. Joseph Street to St. Louis Boulevard, a distance of <br />approximately 2,094 feet. <br />"No Parking Anytime" on the north side of U.S. 20 (Colfax <br />Street) from St. Louis Boulevard to Frances Street, a distance <br />of approximately 1,232 feet. <br />"No Parking Anytime" on both sides of U.S. 20 (Colfax Street) <br />from Frances Street to U.S. 20 (Jacob Street), a distance of <br />approximately 2,433 feet. <br />Mr. Vance further advised that this Resolution and Notice of <br />Official Action has been reviewed by Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, <br />Director, Division of Engineering and he concurs with this action <br />as it is the result of a request by the Division. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above <br />Resolution and Notice of Official Action was -approved. <br />APPROVE OFFER TO PURCHASE PROPERTY - 1616 SOUTH CARLISLE STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ted Leverman, Assistant Director, <br />Bureau of Housing, advised that based on conversations with and <br />correspondence from the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development personnel, the Bureau of Housing recommends that the <br />Board accept the offer of $5,000.00 which was submitted by Mr. <br />Edward D. Miley, 4822 Huntley Court, South Bend, Indiana, for the <br />property located at 1616 South Carlisle Street with the <br />stipulation that all exterior code violations be repaired within <br />thirty (30) days after closing. It was noted that offers for this <br />property were opened by the Board on July 8, 1985, with Mr. Miley <br />submitting the only offer. Mr. Vance made a motion that the offer <br />
