REGULAR MEETING JULY 15, 1985 motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr: Vance and carried, the Purchase Agreement was approved and the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for drafting of the appropriate Quit -Claim Deed. APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR FOOT RACES AND SIMILAR EVENTS - ST. JUDE'S CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL "SUPERWALK" - JULY 20, 1985 Mr. Vance advised that pursuant to Resolution No. 9-1985, establishing policies and fees for foot races and similar events, adopted by the Board of Public Works on March 4, 1985, the sponsor of the following event has fulfilled resolution requirements and the appropriate Agreement is being presented to the Board at this time for approval: St. Jude's Children's Research July 20, 1985 Hospital "Superwalk" It was noted that on March 4, 1985, the Board of Public Works approved the date for this event subject to the sponsor meeting all Resolution requirements. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. APPROVE RESOLUTION AND NOTICE OF OFFICIAL ACTION OF INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC CONTROLS AT U.S. 20 Mr. Vance advised that the Board has received a Resolution and Notice of Official Action of the Indiana Department of Highways establishing traffic controls at U.S. 20 as follows: Parking shall be restricted on U.S. 20 in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, as follows: "No Parking Anytime" on both sides of U.S. 20 (Colfax Street) from St. Joseph Street to St. Louis Boulevard, a distance of approximately 2,094 feet. "No Parking Anytime" on the north side of U.S. 20 (Colfax Street) from St. Louis Boulevard to Frances Street, a distance of approximately 1,232 feet. "No Parking Anytime" on both sides of U.S. 20 (Colfax Street) from Frances Street to U.S. 20 (Jacob Street), a distance of approximately 2,433 feet. Mr. Vance further advised that this Resolution and Notice of Official Action has been reviewed by Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering and he concurs with this action as it is the result of a request by the Division. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Resolution and Notice of Official Action was -approved. APPROVE OFFER TO PURCHASE PROPERTY - 1616 SOUTH CARLISLE STREET In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ted Leverman, Assistant Director, Bureau of Housing, advised that based on conversations with and correspondence from the Department of Housing and Urban Development personnel, the Bureau of Housing recommends that the Board accept the offer of $5,000.00 which was submitted by Mr. Edward D. Miley, 4822 Huntley Court, South Bend, Indiana, for the property located at 1616 South Carlisle Street with the stipulation that all exterior code violations be repaired within thirty (30) days after closing. It was noted that offers for this property were opened by the Board on July 8, 1985, with Mr. Miley submitting the only offer. Mr. Vance made a motion that the offer
