Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION <br />AFFIDAVIT - CHAPIN STREET CURB AND WALK IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II <br />PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Rieth-Riley Construction Company, <br />Inc., has submitted Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the <br />contract amount be increased by $2,608.10 for a new contract sum <br />including this Change Order in the amount of $17,957.10. <br />Additionally submitted was the Project Completion Affidavit <br />indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, Change Order No. 1 <br />(Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved and the <br />appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond as submitted was filed. <br />DENY REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 510-514 KEASEY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that on May 20, 1985, the Board received a <br />letter from Ms. Termer Rae Jones, 1615 So. St. Joseph Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, stating that she was interested in purchasing <br />the City -owned property at 510-514 Keasey Street. The request was <br />referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for a <br />determination as to whether or not the City need retain the lots <br />for any reason. It was the recommendation of the Department of <br />Economic Development that the property not be sold as it is <br />located within an area Community Development is presently studying <br />for possible future development. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />recommendation was accepted and the request to purchase denied. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH TO CLOSE <br />PORTION OF ASSUMPTION DRIVE - AUGUST 11, 1985 <br />In a letter to the Board, Rev. F. Thomas Lallak, Pastor, St. Mary <br />of the Assumption Church, 3402 South Locust Road, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to close a portion of Assumption <br />Drive on Sunday, August 11, 1985, from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. <br />for the annual parish festival. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the following <br />Block Party requests and recommend approval: <br />1 <br />
