Parmerlee, Clerk APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - CHAPIN STREET CURB AND WALK IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II PROJECT Mr. Leszczynski advised that Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc., has submitted Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the contract amount be increased by $2,608.10 for a new contract sum including this Change Order in the amount of $17,957.10. Additionally submitted was the Project Completion Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved and the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond as submitted was filed. DENY REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 510-514 KEASEY Mr. Leszczynski advised that on May 20, 1985, the Board received a letter from Ms. Termer Rae Jones, 1615 So. St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Indiana, stating that she was interested in purchasing the City -owned property at 510-514 Keasey Street. The request was referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need retain the lots for any reason. It was the recommendation of the Department of Economic Development that the property not be sold as it is located within an area Community Development is presently studying for possible future development. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request to purchase denied. APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH TO CLOSE PORTION OF ASSUMPTION DRIVE - AUGUST 11, 1985 In a letter to the Board, Rev. F. Thomas Lallak, Pastor, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 3402 South Locust Road, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close a portion of Assumption Drive on Sunday, August 11, 1985, from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. for the annual parish festival. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the following Block Party requests and recommend approval: 1
