REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 17, 1985 <br />3. Petitioner: Chris Samuels -Wade <br />Address: 1142 Milton Street <br />Street to be closed: 1100 block East Milton <br />Dates and Times: June 30, 1985 - 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. <br />Purpose: Neighborhood Block Party <br />4. Petitioner: Elizabeth Creary <br />Address: 1720 East Wayne Street <br />Street to be closed: Wayne Street between Greenlawn <br />Avenue and Esther Avenue <br />Dates and Times: July 4, 1985 - 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. <br />Purpose: Neighborhood Block Party <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUEST - 200 BLOCK OF EAST WOODSIDE - JUNE <br />23, 1985 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Thomas Niemier, on behalf of his <br />sister Mitzi Heiden, 222 E. Woodside, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission to conduct a neighborhood block party in the <br />200 block of E. Woodside on June 23, 1985, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 <br />p.m. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed <br />this request and recommend approval. Approval was recommended <br />subject to the maintenance of a ten foot (101) clear and <br />unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. It was noted that the <br />Petitioner will be responsible for the placing and removal of the <br />barricades with the barricades to be delivered by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried the above recommendation was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. PETER'S LODGE NO. 31 TO CONDUCT MARCH <br />JUNE 23, 1985 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. James W. Husband, Secretary, St. <br />Peter's Lodge No. 31, 1519 West Linden Avenue, P.O. Box 4454, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a short march <br />in honor of St. John the Baptist on Sunday, June 23, 1985 <br />beginning at 2:00 p.m. The route to be utilized is as follows: <br />from the corner of Dundee and Washington, (LaSalle Park) proceed <br />down Washington to Falcon to the Greater Friendship Missionary <br />Church at 206 Falcon Street. Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering and Captain <br />Edward Friend, Police Department Traffic Division, have reviewed <br />the above request and recommend approval provided participants <br />use the sidewalks only. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above recommendation was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUEST - 400 BLOCK OF N. COQUILLARD STREET <br />JUNE 29, 1985 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, <br />Division of Engineering and Captain Edward Friend, Police - <br />Department Traffic Division, have reviewed the request of Ms. <br />Tessa McGann to conduct a block party in the 400 block of North <br />Coquillard Street on June 29, 1985, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., <br />said request submitted to the Board on June 10, 1985, and <br />recommend approval. Approval was recommended subject to the <br />maintenance of a ten foot (10') clear and unobstructed lane for <br />emergency purposes. It was noted that the Petitioner will be <br />responsible for the placing and removal of the barricades with the <br />barricades to be delivered by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />1 <br />
