<br />APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVITS - STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR PHASE
<br />I AND YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU AIR CONDITIONING PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Rieth-Riley Construction Company
<br />has submitted the Project Completion Affidavit for the Studebaker
<br />Corridor Phase I Project. The Contract was signed by the Board on
<br />August 20, 1984, in the amount of $155,153.96. In addition, O.J.
<br />Shoemaker, Inc. submitted the Project Completion Affidavit for the
<br />Youth Service Bureau Air Conditioning Project. The Contract was
<br />signed by the Board on November 19, 1984, in the amount of
<br />$18,700.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mr. Vance and carried, the above Project Completion Affidavits
<br />were approved subject to the filing of the appropriate three-year
<br />Maintenance Bond for the Studebaker Corridor Phase I Project. The
<br />Maintenance Bond is not necessary for the Youth Service Bureau
<br />Air -Conditioning Project because the Manufacturer's Warranty
<br />accompanied the Project Completion Affidavit.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY ON COQUILLARD DRIVE -
<br />(JUNE 29, 1985) REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Tessa McGann, 401 N. Coquillard
<br />Drive, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a
<br />neighborhood block party in the 400 block of North Coquillard
<br />Drive on June 29, 1985, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried,
<br />the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />REQUESTS TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 535 E. DAYTON STREET,
<br />125 E. DAYTON STREET AND 1134 E. CEDAR STREET
<br />In a letters to the Board, Mr. Ben Leal, Jr., 601 E. Dayton
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated he was interested in
<br />purchasing the City -owned lot at 535 E. Dayton Street, Mr. & Mrs.
<br />Alfred Bolden, 129 E. Dayton Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />indicated that they were interested in purchasing the City -owned
<br />property at 125 E. Dayton Street, and Mr. William E. Shannon, 425
<br />Arthur Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated he was interested in
<br />purchasing the City -owned property at 1134 E. Cedar Street which
<br />is adjacent to his property. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above
<br />requests were referred to the necessary City departments and
<br />bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need
<br />retain the lots for any reason.
<br />REQUEST TO ERECT DIRECTIONAL SIGN - ZION UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

<br />In a letter to the Board, Alva F. Hohl, Jr., Senior Pastor, Zion
<br />United Church of Christ, 715 East Wayne Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested permission to erect a permanent sign directing
<br />persons to his church. He requests that the sign, measuring
<br />24"x34", be placed in the parkway of the 200 block of South St.
<br />Louis Boulevard on the east side of the street. Attached was a
<br />copy of what the sign would look like. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above
<br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the
<br />Police Department Traffic Division and the Building Department for
<br />review and recommendation.

<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Carl Ellison, Assistant Vice
<br />President of Planning and Facilities Management, Memorial
<br />Hospital, 615 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested
<br />permission to place four (4) temporary directional signs in the
