1 1 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 8, 1985 2. Traffic or pedestrian signals at Main and Washington must not be blocked. 3. Permission must be secured from the Indiana Department of Highways for use of Main Street. 4. Construction of walkway must be strong enough to with- stand any falling objects from proposed construction. 5. Walkway must be constructed to O.S.H.A. standards and applicable City ordinances and must be of fire - retardant materials. 6. Red warning lights must be installed to warn drivers. 7. Walkway must be built and maintained as indicated on drawings submitted with request. 8. A Building Permit must be secured from the Building Department and an Occupancy Bond must be filed. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above recommendations were accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF UNITED RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY TO CONDUCT WALK - JUNE 9, 1985 Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering, Captain Edward I. Friend, Police Traffic Division and Park Superintendent James R. Seitz have reviewed the request referred to above, said request submitted to the Board on March 25, 1985, and recommend approval. It was recommended that the walkers utilize either the walkway from Century Center to Howard Park going underneath Jefferson Street or use the public sidewalks obeying all traffic signals. It was noted that no police or traffic assistance will be provided and that United Religious Community will be required to sign an Indemnification Agreement holding the City harmless from any liability which may occur as a result of this event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendations as submitted were accepted and the request approved. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION, TRUCKS OVER 26,000 GVW PROHIBITED - LaSalle - L.W.W. to Chapin. (To limit size of vehicles and trucks using a 42' to 30' residential street). 2. REVISE TO 1-HOUR PARKING IN THIS HALF BLOCK MON. THRU SAT. 8A-6P - 100 W. Colfax, South side, East 1/2 block. (Requested by Traffic and Lighting). APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following four (4) Rubbish and Garbage license applications have been received: 1. Johnson Foulks 1626 Florence, S.B.
