Washington Street <br />Purchase Price: $135.00 <br />DENY REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 901 MINER STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that on February 11, 1985, the Board <br />received a request from Mr. Robert L. Stephan, Attorney at Law, <br />Suite 300 Lafayette Building, 115 South Lafayette Boulevard, South <br />Bend, Indiana, who represents parties who are interested in <br />purchasing the City -owned property on Notre Dame Avenue between <br />Sorin and Miner Street, commonly known as 901 Miner Street. After <br />a review by the necessary City Departments and Bureaus, it was <br />determined that this property must be retained by the City in <br />order to complete a particular project in the future. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request to purchase the property at 901 Miner Street <br />was denied. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT <br />The following Community Development Contract was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />NATIONAL CENTER FOR URBAN ETHNIC AFFAIRS <br />NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL STRIP STUDY <br />Through a combination of on -site and off -site work, the <br />National Center for Urban Ethnic Affairs will provide: <br />(1) An expanded analysis report and series of recommendations <br />on the City's neighborhood commerical strips' policy making <br />and program delivery process. This report is due 3/31/85. <br />(2) An assessment report of the feasibility of establishing a <br />neighborhood commercial revitalization program for the South <br />Michigan strip (from Monroe Street south to City limits). <br />This assessment will include the identification of other areas <br />with potential success for such a program. This report is due <br />7/31/85. <br />In addition NCUEA will provide: <br />(1) Continued assistance on the refinement of neighborhood <br />commerical strip needs, goals, and resources; <br />(2) Assistance on the implementation of previously defined <br />goals and objectives; and <br />1 <br />1 <br />�1 <br />J <br />
