Parmerlee, Clerk <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 6-1985 - TRANSFER OF OBSOLETE STREET <br />DEPARTMENT VEHICLE TO THE CASS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public <br />Works advised that the Street Department owns an old armored truck <br />that has not been used for several years for any purpose. The <br />vehicle has very little value and the Department would like to <br />dispose of it. He further advised that the Cass County Sheriff's <br />Department has expressed an interest in acquiring this vehicle so <br />that it can be rebuilt for use as a SWAT truck. Resolution No. <br />5-1985, adopted by the Board this date, authorizes disposal of <br />said vehicle by the City of South Bend. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Vance, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following Resolution <br />No. 6-1985 transferring the vehicle to the Cass County Sheriff's <br />Department was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6-1985 <br />WHEREAS, by adoption of Resolution No. 5-1985, the <br />Board of Public Works on February 4, 1985, determined <br />that the following Street Department vehicle was no <br />longer suitable for the purpose for which it was intended <br />and no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />1960 Chevrolet Truck <br />Model # 0051 <br />Serial # OC12F123408 <br />WHEREAS, the Cass County Sheriff's Department has <br />expressed an interest in acquiring said vehicle for pur- <br />poses of rebuilding it for use as a SWAT truck; and <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-8 permits the transfer <br />or exchange of property with another governmental entity. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend, that the vehicle listed <br />above be transferred, for the sum of One Dollar ($1.00), <br />to the Cass County Sheriff's Department for the purposes <br />of rebuilding said vehicle for use by that department. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/Richard L.
