e o <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 9. 1986 <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the number of holidays for <br />City employees has been reduced to the above seven and one-half <br />(7 1/2) days plus two (2) additional holidays chosen from the <br />following five (5) holidays: <br />MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY <br />LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY <br />WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY <br />COLUMBUS DAY <br />FRIDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 19, 1987 <br />THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 1987 <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1987 <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1987 <br />FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that it is the City's intent to have the <br />individual Departments coordinate the scheduling of the two (2) <br />additional holidays. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above 1987 holiday schedule was approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - SYCAMORE -LA SALLE WALKWAY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. This project which will be bid at a later date <br />entails the construction of a walkway along the East Race from <br />Sycamore to LaSalle. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Title Sheet was <br />approved and signed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE TO CONDUCT SUNBURST <br />MARATHON AND 10K ROAD RACE - JUNE 6, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Police Department Traffic Division and the City Attorney's office <br />have reviewed the above referred to request which was submitted <br />to the Board on November 25, 1986, and recommend approval. Upon <br />a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr'. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved subject to the sponsor meeting all requirements of the <br />Board. <br />APPROVE RE( <br />LIFE" - J <br />T OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO <br />"MARCH FOR <br />Mr. Leszczynski informed the Board that the above referred to <br />request, submitted to the Board on November 25, 1986, was <br />reviewed 'by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and <br />recommended for approval. The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />advised that the participants must stay on the sidewalks and obey <br />all traffic regulations. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request <br />was approved subject to the sponsor meeting all requirements of <br />the Board. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT MARCH - MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. <br />CELEBRATION - JANUARY 19, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above request submitted to the Board on <br />December 2, 1986, and recommend approval subject to participants <br />marching on the sidewalk and obeying all traffic regulations. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the above recommendation was accepted <br />and the request approved subject to the sponsor meeting all <br />requirements of the Board. <br />1 <br />
