REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 28, 1986 <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 6 - RESTORATION OF PALAIS ROYALE <br />BUILDING (FACADE AND SIDEWALK REPAIR) PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that James E. Childs & Associates, Inc., <br />521 West Colfax Avenue, South Bend, Indiana and Verkler <br />Contractor, 345 North Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana, have <br />submitted Change Order No. 6 for the above referred to project <br />indicating that the contract amount be increased by $3,657.51 for <br />a new contract amount including this Change Order in the sum of <br />$258,447.51. The Change Order indicated a deduct to adjust <br />micro-cotta allowance and an increase to add marquee lights on <br />the south facade west of the entrance to Marks' Restaurant. Upon <br />a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, Change Order No. 6 was approved and executed. <br />FILING OF FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 2993 AND SETTING OF PUBLIC <br />HEARING DATE - CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER ALONG RIVERSIDE <br />DRIVE AND RIVERSIDE PLACE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, <br />Public Works, submitted Final Assessment Roll No. 2993 for the <br />above referred to project. It was noted that this project <br />included the construction of sanitary sewers along River <br />Side Drive and Riverside Place. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried the above <br />referred to Final Assessment Roll was filed and a public hearing <br />date of November 10, 1986 was set to hear remonstrances from <br />affected property owners concerning the amounts assessed. <br />PETITION FOR RESTRICTED RESIDENTIAL PARKING - 900 BLOCK BELLEVUE <br />AVENUE - REFERRED <br />Mr. Marion Balsley, 918 Bellevue Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, on <br />behalf of the residents of the 900 block of Bellevue Avenue, <br />submitted a Petition for Restricted Residential Parking. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the Petition was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting in order that a traffic study can be conducted regarding <br />this request. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF BETHEL COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT <br />5K RUN - NOVEMBER 1, 1986 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this <br />request and recommend approval. It was noted that Civil Defense <br />Special Police will be utilized for this event. Therefore, upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following four (4) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, HANDICAP TOW -AWAY ZONE - 1326 Grace <br />Street. (Regina Kelley). <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Rush at South. <br />(Offset cross intersection). <br />3. NEW INSTALLATION, TOW -AWAY ZONE - 3003 Lincolnway West. <br />(Touch of Texas). Addition to No Parking within <br />20' of pavement. Requested by Police Department. <br />4. REMOVAL OF 30-MINUTE PARKING, REVISED TO 2-HOUR <br />PARKING, 6A-9P, 30 MINUTE PARKING 9P-6A - <br />1200-1300 W. Washington. (Requested by <br />Police Department). <br />0 <br />ii <br />
