4.A',A, u <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 23, 1986 <br />referred to project. It was noted that bids for this project <br />were opened by the Board on September 16, 1986. Upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded, subject to the <br />filing of the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor <br />and Materials Payment Bond. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - MICHIGAN STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />PHASE II PROJECT <br />Pursuant to the September 16, 1986, bid award to Carl J. Reinke & <br />Sons, Inc., 1216 West Sample Street, P.O. Box 3095, South Bend, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $654,095.19 for the above referred to <br />project, the appropriate Public Works Construction Contract was <br />submitted at this time for Board approval. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the Contract was approved and the appropriate insurance, <br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond submitted <br />with the Contract were accepted and filed. <br />ST OF CENTER CITY ASSOCIATES TO CONDUCT ANNUAL HOLIDAY <br />Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office of Community Affairs, advised <br />that Center City Associates is requesting permission to hold the <br />annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 22, 1986, beginning <br />at 11:00 a.m. with staging beginning at 9:00 a.m. She stated <br />that the parade will take approximately forty-five (45) minutes <br />and will begin on Western Avenue and proceed east to Michigan <br />Street, Michigan Street north to Colfax (four blocks). Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the request was referred to the necessary City departments for <br />review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. REMOVAL OF 1-HOUR PARKING 6A-6P, REVISED TO NO <br />PARKING - 100 W. Western, South side from <br />Michigan to Main Street. (Addition of lane <br />for new signals at Michigan & Western). <br />2. REMOVAL OF 1-HOUR PARKING, REVISED TO NO PARKING - <br />100 W. Jefferson, North side, Michigan Street to <br />Main. (Increase sight distance for new entrance <br />to shoppers parking lot). <br />3. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Academy Place at <br />Inglewood Place. ("T" Intersection). <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT MONTHLY OUTAGE REPORTS - JULY & AUGUST <br />The reports submitted to the Board indicated a total of <br />two -hundred ninety-two (292) street light outages reported during <br />the month of July and one hundred seventeen (117) reported during <br />the month of August. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded <br />by Ms. Barnard and carried, the reports as submitted were <br />accepted and filed. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of one hundred forty-one (141) properties cleaned from <br />September 15, 1986 to September 19, 1986, was submitted. Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the report as submitted was filed. <br />
