AWARD BID - ONE (1) 1987 TYPE I MODULAR AMBULANCE FOR SOUTH BEND
FIRE DEPARTMENT
In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor, advised that
the Department has reviewed the five (5) bids opened on August
19, 1986, for the above referred to ambulance. He stated that
the bids ranged in price from $46,345.00 to $51,904.00 and
included options and a trade allowance. He further stated that
it is his opinion that the low trade allowance of $2,900.00 makes
it unfeasible to accept the trade allowance. He recommended,
therefore, that the Board award the lowest bid of St. Ives, Inc.,
828 Warehouse Road #7, Toledo, Ohio, in the amount of $46,345.00
to furnish an ambulance per specifications manufactured by First
Response, Inc. of Ellenwood, Georgia. The price, not including a
trade but including rustproofing and a trailer hitch, totals
$46,345.00. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard,
seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was
accepted and the bid awarded.
AWARD BID - L.W.W. CURB IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II PROJECT
In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Manager, Bureau
of Public Construction, recommended that the Board award the low
bid of Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc., 25487 W. St. Rd. 2,
South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $69,440.00 for the above
referred to project subject to funding. It was noted that bids
for this project were opened by the Board on September 16, 1986.
Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded,
subject to funding and the filing of the appropriate Insurance,
Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond.
