BID: $697,000.00 Box 1106 South Bend, Indiana 46624 Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, President and Roberta Ziolkowski, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. BID: $916,195.75 P.O. Box 1775 South Bend, Indiana 46634 Bid was signed by Chester L. Skwarcan, Division Manager, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - SAMPLE STREET REPAIRS PROJECT This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. It was noted that the Engineer's Estimate for this project is $150,000.00. The following bids were opened and publicly read: RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. $203,308.75 P.O. Box 1775 South Bend, Indiana 46634 Bid was signed by R.L. McCormick, Area Manager, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. WALSH & KELLY INC. 24358 State Road 23 South Bend, Indiana 46614 Bid was signed by Thomas 0. Quinn, Assistant Secretary, order and a 5% Bid Bond was $140,805.00 Walsh, President and John R. Non -Collusion Affidavit was in submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. PUBLIC HEARING AND AFFIRMATION OF DENIAL OF TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE (DELMAR MAY) Mr. Delmar L. May, 127 Indiana Avenue, Mishawaka, Indiana, appeared before the Board concerning the recent denial of his application for a Taxicab Driver's License. It was noted that in a letter dated August 26, 1986, Mr. Michael L. Vance, Director, Administration and Finance, advised Mr. May that his license application was being denied based on a background investigation of his traffic history. Mr. May acknowledged that his record looks bad but stated that he is retired, has time on his hands and was told by the taxicab company that if he was able to secure a taxicab drivers license they would put him to work.
