�( 4' REGULAR MEETING JUNE 17, 1986 been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above request was approved and a date of July 1, 1986 was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) VAN MOUNTED AERIAL LIFT In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for one (1) van mounted aerial lift to be used by the Traffic and Lighting Department for traffic signal repairs. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ROLLERSKATE THIRTY (30) MILES THROUGHOUT SOUTH BEND TO BENEFIT LEUKEMIA VICTIM ("SKATE FOR KATHY") - JUNE 21, 1986 Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ms. Gretchen Priest, 513 Corby, South Bend, Indiana, and Ms. Cindy Simeri have requested permission to rollerskate thirty (30) miles throughout South Bend on June 21, 1986, to raise funds to benefit their former classmate who has leukemia. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this request and the route submitted, and recommend approval of the event. It was noted that the two (2) skaters will utilize the streets and will obey all traffic signals. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following Block Party requests which have been reviewed by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division and recommended for approval were approved: PETITIONER: R. Farrell, Jr. ADDRESS: 1842 Wilbur Street STREET TO BE CLOSED: 1800 block of Wilbur Street between Portage and Marquette DATE: July 4, 1986 TIME: 1:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. PETITIONER: Sue Baytos ADDRESS: 1330 East South Street STREET TO BE CLOSED: East South Street from Sunnyside to the Island at Longfellow DATE: June 28, 1986 TIME: 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 midnight PETITIONER: Janice McCurdie ADDRESS: 1307 East Altgeld Street STREET TO BE CLOSED: East Altgeld Street between Leer and Clyde Streets DATE: July 4, 1986 TIME: 2:00 p.m. - 12:00 midnight It was noted that the Petitioners will be instructed that a ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane at either curb or down the center of the street must be maintained for emergency purposes. 7 1 1
