�L <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 10, 1986 <br />1986. She stated that the showmobile will be used as a staging <br />area for camera equipment, commentators, etc. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH TO CLOSE <br />PORTION OF ASSUMPTION DRIVE FOR PARISH FESTIVAL - AUGUST 17, 1986 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />above referred to request which was submitted to the Board on <br />June 3, 1986, and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUEST - DALE AVENUE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Candy Howell, 921 East Eckman, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close Dale Avenue <br />from Eckman Street to Irvington Street on Saturday, June 14, <br />1986, for a neighborhood block party. Ms. Howell requested that <br />the street be closed from 8:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 1986 until <br />Sunday morning June 15, 1986. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this <br />request and recommend approval of the street closing but <br />recommended that the street only be closed during the hours of <br />8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on June 14, 1986. Further, a ten <br />foot (10') clear and unobstructed lane at either curb or down the <br />center of the street must be maintained for emergency vehicles. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />PARADE ROUTE TO BE UTILIZED FOR 40TH <br />DAY CELEBRATION PARADE - MAHOMET TEMPLE 134 - JUNE 14, 1986 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that due to the anticipated paving of <br />Washington Street west of Walnut, the parade route approved by <br />the Board on May 27, 1986 for the above referred to event, must <br />be amended with the new route to be as follows: <br />Orange Street, east to Walnut Street; Walnut Street <br />south to Washington; Washington east to the 100 East <br />Washington (Marriott Hotel). <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the modified parade <br />route approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Calhoun @ Goodland. <br />(Uncontrolled "T"). <br />APPROVE SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following Sidewalk Sale Permit <br />applications have been received: <br />NAME: DUFFINS MIAMI FLORIST <br />BY: David Duf f in <br />ADDRESS: 2208 Miami Street <br />DATES: June 26, 27, 28, 1986 <br />
