163 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 20, 1986 <br />Bend Tribune, sponsors of the Sunburst Marathon and 10K Road Race <br />to be held on Saturday, June 7, 1986, have fulfilled resolution <br />requirements and the appropriate Agreement is being presented to <br />the Board at this time for approval. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the <br />Agreement was approved and executed. It was noted that the <br />request to conduct this event was submitted to the Board on <br />January 7, 1986 and approved by the Board on February 18, 1986. <br />AWARD BIDS - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1986 <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. Phil St. Clair, Manager, Bureau of <br />Vehicle Maintenance, advised that based on the lowest bid and <br />complying with City specifications, he recommends the following <br />awards be made: <br />Petroleum Traders Corp., 6110 Constitution Dr., Fort Wayne, IN <br />Item #1 Regular Gasoline - transport @ $.5342/gal. <br />Item #2 Unleaded Gasoline - transport @ $.5342/gal. <br />Item #3 Diesel Fuel #1 - transport @ $.5300/gal. <br />Item #3 Diesel Fuel #2 - transport @ $.4750/gal. <br />Pierceton Equipment Co., P.O. Box 233, Laketon, IN <br />Item #4 No. 4 Fuel Oil - transport @ $.4946/gal. <br />Smith Petroleum, Inc., P.O. Box 5034, Fort Wayne, IN <br />Item #5 Gasohol - transport @ $.5916/gal. <br />Mr. St. Clair noted that all prices are based on transport <br />deliveries only. <br />Mr. Leszczynski confirmed with Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar that <br />due to the fact that no bids were received for tank wagon <br />deliveries, Mr. St. Clair may negotiate with various vendors to <br />obtain an acceptable price for this item. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. <br />Barnard and carried, the recommendations as submitted were <br />accepted, the bids as outlined above were awarded and Mr. St. <br />Clair was authorized to proceed with seeking quotes for tank <br />wagon deliveries. <br />APPROVE DOCUMENTS RE: PURCHASE OF COLFAX CULTURA <br />- AGREEMENT FOR SALE AND PURCHASE OF REAL PROPER <br />- PETITION TO RELEASE ACCRUED TAX AND REMOVE PROPERTY FROM <br />TAX ROLLS <br />- WARRANTY DEED <br />As an introduction, Mr. James Bixler, Department of Economic <br />Development, advised that the City has been working with the <br />South Bend Heritage Foundation to acquire the Colfax Cultural <br />Center, 914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, and the Board's <br />action today is the culmination of that effort. <br />Mr. Jim Bostick, President, South Bend Heritage Foundation, <br />addressed the Board and advised that the Foundation has been <br />working on the project of acquiring the Colfax Cultural Center <br />for two (2) years. He noted that the Colfax Cultural Center, <br />once utilized as Colfax School, is one of the community's oldest <br />schools. He stated that because of a fundraising effort to <br />acquire and manage the facility, the Colfax Cultural Center is <br />alive and well. <br />
