<br />Mr. Leszczynski clarified that the Board does not have the
<br />authority to approve rates to be charged but only accepts the new
<br />rates for filing as a matter of public record.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard
<br />and carried, the new address as stated above was noted and the
<br />rates as submitted were accepted for filing.
<br />REQUEST OF LA SALLE HIGH SCHOOL DECA TO CONDUCT ETHNIC FESTIVAL
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office
<br />of Community Affairs, advised that in conjunction with this
<br />year's Ethnic Festival, the LaSalle High School DECA has
<br />requested permission to hold a Bed Race fundraiser with proceeds
<br />going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The race will be
<br />held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 1986, along Jefferson
<br />Boulevard. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic
<br />Division for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF ST. JOE VALLEY WATERCOLOR SOCIETY FOR TRAFFIC
<br />ASSISTANCEFOR LEEPER PARK ART FAIR - JUNE 21-22 1986, REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Jennifer S. Fox, Director, Leeper
<br />Park Art Fair, 54479 Whispering Oak Drive, Mishawaka, Indiana,
<br />advised that the St. Joe Valley Watercolor Society has been
<br />granted permission by the Park Department to use Leeper Park for
<br />the Leeper Park Art Fair on June 21-22, 1986. Ms. Fox advised
<br />that the Watercolor Society has requested the services of the
<br />Civil Defense to allow people and vehicles to move safely around
<br />the fair site. To ease traffic congestion on the days of the
<br />fair, they would like to have Riverside Drive where it is
<br />adjacent to Leeper Park changed to a one-way street going west
<br />and Park Lane changed to a one-way street going east. Upon a
<br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF THE LEAD GROUP, INC. TO LOCATE TEMPORARY TRAILER
<br />REFERRED
<br />Mr. Dennis L. Weaver, Construction Project Manager, The Lead
<br />Group, Inc., 202 South Fifth Street, Goshen, Indiana, requested
<br />permission to park a jobsite office trailer in a vacated alley
<br />bordered by the Rinks building to the north and the Tripods
<br />property to the south in South Bend for an eight -month period.
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski
<br />and carried, this request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting, Police Department Traffic Division and Building
<br />Department for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF ST. STANISLAUS CHURCH TO CLOSE STREETS FOR PROCESSION

<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Dorothy A. Jeske, Acting Secretary,
<br />Liturgy Committee, St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic
<br />Church, 415 North Brookfield, South Bend, Indiana, requested
<br />permission to close streets for a procession on June 1, 1986 from
<br />12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Ms. Jeske advised that the following
<br />streets would need barricades for this procession:
