REGULAR MEETING APRIL 1. 1986 <br />RENEW, INC. <br />RENEW, INC. ACQUISITION/REHABILITATION ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to acquire and <br />rehabilitate four (4) single family housing units within the <br />Neighborhood Revitalization Area. The total cost of this <br />activity shall not exceed $ 45,000.00. <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />REDEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATIVE BUDGET <br />This contract indicates that the continued development and <br />revitalization of South Bend's commercial districts and <br />development areas is important to the quality of life for the <br />total community and is advantageous to the future economic growth <br />and physical development of the City. The City of South Bend, in <br />a creative and affirmative partnership with residents, private <br />enterprise, and the Federal government has embarked upon several <br />development projects. The city will undertake a number of <br />activities in this effort, thus planning and management support <br />funds will be in <br />needed accomplishing these goals. The total <br />cost of this contract shall not exceed $275,000.00. <br />NATIONAL CENTER FOR URBAN ETHNIC AFFAIRS <br />NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL STRIP TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ACTIVITY <br />This contract indicates that the City believes that scarce <br />federal funds should be used whenever possible to encourage <br />private investment in the development and expansion of <br />neighborhood commercial strips. Therefore, funds will be used to <br />stimulate such changes. Through a combination of on -site and <br />off -site work, NCUEA will work with the City and the commercial. <br />strips to coordinate a regional conference; coordinate an effort <br />to attract a new economic development venture/project along <br />Western Avenue; provide direct technical assistance to city staff <br />and the various commercial strips as needed; explore alternative <br />funding mechanisms for entire city and assist the city and <br />commercial strip organizations. The total cost of this activity <br />shall not exceed $20,000.00. <br />BUREAU <br />HOUSING <br />This contract indicates that the City, in creative and <br />affirmative partnership with city residents, private enterprise <br />and the Federal Government, is committed to the national housing <br />goal of a decent home and suitable living environment for all <br />persons. In attempting to achieve this goal, the City has <br />developed programs to financially assist low and moderate income <br />persons in their effort to acquire and maintain safe, adequate <br />and affordable housing through the provisions of services and <br />loans. Funds provided through this contract shall be utilized by <br />the Bureau to provide the staffing and administrative costs <br />associated with the provision of those services. The total cost <br />of this activity shall not exceed $ 260,000.00. <br />MADISON CENTER. INC. <br />RAPE CRISIS COUNSELING ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to counsel twenty-six (26) <br />victims and provide outreach and support services to 2,000 <br />non -victim individuals. The total cost of this activity shall <br />not exceed $ 22,866.00. <br />NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL INC. <br />NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to be open 240 days for <br />public access to the Center and the services it provides. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $ 4,500.00. <br />
