REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 4, 1986
Mr. Voorde further mentioned the City's ability to purchase Fords
thru the State's purchase agreement. Mr. Leszczynski advised Mr.
Voorde that perhaps the Chief Hurley looked into that option but
maybe those vehicles were higher priced.than the bids received by
the Board.
Ms. Barnard inquired of Mr. Voorde if the auto dealers contacted
Chief Hurley about this matter. Mr. Voorde indicated that they
had and that he also had conversations with car dealers who
indicated that the specifications kept them from bidding as they
felt they did not qualify to bid. Mr. Voorde further advised
that after his discussion with Chief Hurley, he notified the Ford
dealers he had had discussions with and advised them that the
bids would be readvertised.
Mr. Vance advised that he had,had a discussion with Gates Chevy
World regarding the overdrive requirement, but that conversation
occurred after they submitted a bid. As stated above, Gates
Chevy World did submit a bid which indicated exceptions to the
bid that the vehicles bid did have overdrive transmissions.
As Police Chief Charles T. Hurley was not present to clarify this
matter, and as Board members were not aware of the matter prior
to Mr. Voorde's bringing it to their attention at this time,
upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
carried, the matter of the award of this bid was tabled until the
next regular meeting of the Board in order that the Chief can be
contacted regarding this matter.
AWARD BID - PAINTING OF TWO (2) PARKING GARAGES
In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. It is her
recommendation that the request be approved provided that within
the next two (2) weeks, the site is cleaned -up to the
satisfaction of the Department of Code Enforcement and provided
that the site is kept clean in the future.
