Meade, S.B. <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and all applicants were found. <br />to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the above license applications were <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance. <br />APPROVE AND RELEASE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Paul E. Geans Concrete be approved <br />effective February 6, 1986 and the Contractor's Bond for Mel <br />Whittaker,-d/b/a/ Mel's Tree Service be released effective <br />February 4, 1986. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by <br />Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendations were accepted <br />and the bond for Paul E. Geans was approved and the bond for Mel <br />Whittaker was released. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a permit: <br />1. Leo L. Heddens, 5503 University Park Dr., Apt. B, Mish. <br />REQUEST TO HAVE DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE ACROSS FROM <br />1629 NORTH OLIVE STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Karen S. Comer, 1629 North Olive <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that a handicapped parking <br />sign be placed directly across from her home at 1629 North Olive <br />Street, as she has multiple sclerosis and has difficulty walking <br />any distance from her car. She further advised that Olive Street <br />has parking on one -side only. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, this request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />
