REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 14, 1986 <br />Begin at Miami and Alpine to York Road; to Byron; to <br />Springbrook; to Woodmont; to Altgeld Street; to York; <br />to Ridgedale; to Caroline; to Springbrook; to Byron; <br />to York; to Alpine and Miami to finish. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - Orange St., North side <br />and South side, 150' West of Birdsell. (Requested <br />by Councilperson). <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - Colfax Ave., North <br />and South side, Studebaker to Birdsell. (Requested <br />by Councilperson). <br />3. REMOVAL OF STOP SIGN ON THORNHILL - Revise to Stop <br />Sign on Renfrew. (Reversal of Stop Signs to <br />Renfrew Dr. Temporary 4-way for 60 days, before <br />reversal. Thornhill is thru street). <br />FILING OF NEW TAXICAB RATES - YELLOW CAB COMPANY <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Otto E. Keres, Sup'r, Yellow Cab <br />Company of South Bend, 710 North Niles Avenue, P.O. Box 657, <br />South Bend, Indiana, advised that Yellow Cab Company intends to <br />increase their rates effective January 15, 1986, as follows: <br />$2.00 for the 1st 1/5th mile or fraction thereof <br />$ .20 for each additional 1/5th mile <br />$12.00 per hour for one (1) or more passengers <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the Municipal Code <br />taxicab licensing requirements, taxicab companies are required to <br />submit to the Board of Public Works for filing purposes only, any <br />changes in the rates they intend to charge for services. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the rates as submitted were accepted for filing. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the following four (4) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of permits: <br />1. <br />2. <br />Robert Bond, 4603 <br />John Braboy, 1028 <br />W. Pecsi, <br />17260 Douglas Rd., S.B. <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE MONTHLY REPORT - DECEMBER. 1985 <br />The report submitted to the Board indicated a total of one <br />hundred (100) street light outages reported during the month of <br />December. It was additionally noted that in 1985, a total of <br />1,756 street light outages were handled. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the report <br />as submitted was filed. <br />
